Not a big deal and the anesthesia is the BEST EVER! It is what actually killed Michael Jackson! Seriously - it is not bad at all and you will be fine - hungry as hell after procedure! So smash whatever your favorite restaurant is after procedure. [Reply]
Oh man, I gotta do this next month. Was supposed to do it in September but I got a really bad cold and after talking to the nurse, we decided it was best to postpone. Not looking forward to it but as others have said, prevention is the best medicine.
I went with the Suprep even though my insurance doesn't cover it. Sounds like a much easier deal to down 2 horrible 8oz drinks than 14 on the night before and just two more the next morning.
And dlpg, I don't know his exact age but I'm sure BigRedChief is at least in his 50s. [Reply]
With so many needing colonoscopies and this board filled with oldies like me, we should all get together, get a huge group discount, have the procedure and then tailgate in the parking lot after we are done. [Reply]

Drinking the shit is the worst part. Cherry flavored sweat. Outside of that, I was surprised how easy the night went. The first couple of bowel movements are going to smell like Drano though. [Reply]

The drinking the prep liquid I have heard is pretty terrible. That's why I went with the minimal one. The smell like Drano part I had not heard. :-)
I'm doing my liquid diet today and the procedure tomorrow. After work I get to start drinking that horrible prep liquid. Not looking forward to that. [Reply]
Isn't it a little late in the day to be *starting* prep for a procedure in the AM? Eh, maybe not...you've got 12 hours+ ahead of you. In about 45 minutes, you'll think you are doing fine, then BLAMMO.... [Reply]
Good luck, bro. I see my doc next week to schedule mine.
My daughter is a nurse and she worked in an endoscopy unit for a bit. Every once in a while, they’d be doing a procedure and find some bit of food - usually vegetables because they dont break down as well. When that happens, they can’t see what they need to see and they need to re-schedule the procedure. Inevitably the patient would say “But I got hungry.” So you might be super hungry but just hang in there. Don’t want to have to do this again in 3 weeks because you were “hungry”. [Reply]
