Made the playoffs. Took out the Orioles on the road.
Lost in four games to the Yankees by 4 runs.
Finally got a bullpen.
Had two pitchers who will finish in the top five for the Cy Young.
Bobby Witt jr turned into a superstar likely being an MVP #2 to that phag in NY.
Salvy just kept doing Salvy stuff.
Vinnie came back from shoulder surgery and had a helluva year.
Cole Ragans had a full season. His arm didn’t fall off. He’s probably top five for Cy Young.
Seth Lugo is gonna finish top five for Cy Young. He’s like Rick Reed. And he’s ours for at least another season.
Brady Singer will get his next time with arbitration. And I’m ambivalent, but I know it’s damn hard to find healthy arms who could be be better as a 3/4 starter.
Michael Wacha was more than everything we could’ve ever wanted, but I say let that man fly unless he wants to take a dumb contract, which he won’t do.
That gives us Alec Marsh who was pretty great for his role.
And we have Wright coming in, plus Bubic who could start.
But this team needs another bat and wingman for Bobby. It’s perfect that Juan Soto would fill many roles, but it ain’t happening.
Adames is someone I like. And we can dangle Massey/Garcia. Just a thought.
This team…. I hope they go into the offseason working hard, and I hope they got the glitter out of their eyes.
Good team with obvious weakness, and a perennial superstar ready to erupt….
Sherman and JJ should be on the phone soon [Reply]
Judge Chris Lopez gives Diamond Sports Group the green light to get out of bankruptcy. One objection remained entering today, from the U.S. Trustee about legal releases, and Lopez says he's OK with the releases.
Diamond Sports Group says in court "there is an additional team we remain in discussion with." Although not named in court, this continues to be the Kansas City Royals. No deal has been reached yet.
Today’s confirmation hearing was the last step in a long-drawn-out process for DSG to return to business as usual, or at least some semblance of such. The company remains the broadcast home of the Braves, Cardinals, Marlins, Angels, Tigers, and Rays for 2025 and beyond. However, it will no longer host the Twins, Guardians, Brewers, Rangers, and Reds. The Royals could also be looking elsewhere for a broadcast deal; their relationship with DSG is still up in the air. Further changes include a new name for DSG’s regional sports networks, FanDuel Sports Networks, and a deal to make DSG’s RSNs available on the Amazon Prime streaming service (for an additional fee). I think FanDuel is a much better ran company than that shit hole Bally's, but if John Sherman is really sincere in his desire to get the game in more fans home's than he needs to do something that makes sure it actually happens. Either have some type of language in the contract or find a new partner.
I really wish regional sports networks would fucking die. I wish the MLB would just broadcast every team and then they could split all the revenues and certain teams wouldn't have a huge advantage because they got an insane TV deal. Also get rid of black outs. That doesn't seem like something that should be all that difficult to do. [Reply]

I don't mind paying $20/month. All you're really paying for is April, May, June, July, August, and September. I just want a better app that doesn't suck shit.
I don't think FanDuel will fuck over everyone of the broadcasters and their viewers, but you never and that's why RSNs need to die off. [Reply]
Not even lying, I had a dream last night that I met Bobby Witt Jr, and had a wonderful conversation with him. But the thing is, he was carrying around a pet fish the whole time. I’m talking about one of those big ass fish from the Amazon river. He had to tuck it under his arm and kept having to switch it back and forth because it was so heavy. I knew he was struggling but I just kept pushing the convo.

I need someone to interpret this for me.
The fish in question was the 2024 royals. You're welcome. [Reply]
Teoscar Hernandez signed to a 2-year deal at around $20 mil per. He immediately slides into LF as the starter, hitting 5th behind Vinnie/Salvy.
Sign Tanner Scott to a 3 year $36-42 mil deal. AVG about 12-14 per. This gives you a proven LHP Vet in the pen that has been consistent for many a year. We all know the bullpen was a weakness starting the season in 24, by the end of the year it had the makings of a potential strength.. But how confident are we that it will continue into '25? I like what was built, but having a guy like Tanner in a setup role would help lock that down.
Sign Blake Treinen to a 2 year $24 mil deal. Solid. Bullpen depth. Postseason experience. From Wichita, KS. Get it done.
Bring back Yuli Gurriel on a 1 yr deal.
Cut Stratton
Trade MJ Melendez, Alec Marsh, and Tyler Gentry or another R's Prospect to the Cubs for 3B Isaac Paredes (wishful thinking). They need pitching and OF help.
Trade Kyle Isbel and Nick Pratto to any team that wants to take flyers on them. Key here: Get them off the 40 man.
Bullpen (6)
Sam Long
Daniel Lynch
Lucas Erceg
Kris Bubic
*Blake Treinen
*Tanner Scott
Depth/AAA rotational on the 40 man. Fight for the last spot and/or used as rotational bouncing back and forth from AAA: Angel Zerpa, John Schreiber, James McArthur, Carlos Hernandez, Hunter Harvey, and Evan Sisk
Defensive Lineup
C Freddy 'Flippin' Fermin
1B Vinnie 'The Sassquatch' Pasquantino
2B Michael 'Massively' Massey
SS Bobby MVP Witt Jr
3B Isaac Paredes
DH Salvy 'Forever Royal' Perez
LF Teoscar Hernandez
RF Hunter 'I signed for 2 years' Renfroe
CF Drew 'Please don't suck' Waters
Bench (5 filled 2 slots remain): Dairon 'I came here to steal bases and chew bubble gum, and I'm all out of bubble gum' Blanco, Nelson Velazquez, Maikel 'Super Util' Garcia, Yuli 'The Professor' Gurriel, Nick 'White boi' Loftin
Obviously there is quite a bit to get worked out, with there still a couple of spots to fill and some more depth to work out. But for me... I'd be really, really happy with this base roster going into next season. Mainly due to the pipe dreams of Peredes and Hernandez with the subtraction of Isbel.
