True, but it's much easier to control emissions at the source of electricity production, rather than trying to deal with emissions coming from every vehicle on the road.

California told people to stop plugging in their EV's.

The entire thing is a joke. Chemically gasoline has more power than these ancient battery technologies and it's probably safer and isn't as bad for the environment as strip mining for lithium.

If the goal was control EVs wouldn't be necessary, and right now we're all at the mercy of the petroleum industry, so we're already being controlled, more or less.

the emissions savings for EVs are drastically overstated. it's about the same as the difference between a compact car and an SUV. it's there but it's not as much as you would think

reducing battery size would probably help though, most people don't really need a battery with 300+ mile range. how often do you drive 300 or more miles in a day?
