Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
Grunhard said last Friday morning that Mahomes will be the backup. Said that they will want him to take the scout team snaps... which the backup QB does. [Reply]

No doubt. He will get to face one of the NFL's best defenses every day in practice. A defense better than anyone at forcing turnovers. What better way to learn what you can and can't get away with at this level at the quarterback position?
If Pat gets goofy, Peters or Berry will be intercepting everything. [Reply]

That will be a great experience for him. He's in the best situation possible to help him avoid being a major bust. If he fails in KC, he would have failed everywhere else too. [Reply]
Mahomes' biggest problem is that he doesn't like playing from the pocket.
These kids are able to pick up the play calling quickly. Carr, Marriotta, Dalton all ran non-traditional spread type offenses. Other teams use the cue cards on the sidelines. [Reply]

He doesn't?
I'm not being argumentative etc. Did you read or or hear that somewhere/
my take was that he 'can' play from the pocket, but has no problem stepping up / evaading while looking downfield.
again, not calling you out or anything like that, just curious where you read that? or is that your take on the guy etc? etc. [Reply]

He gets happy feet at times and prefers to roll to his left and throw across his body instead of staying in the pocket. Some of it is due to poor OL play, but there are times when he would do it with good protection.
Not sure if he's so used to bad OL blocking that he sees phantom pass rush or what. We'll see if he can learn to trust the pocket in the NFL with a better OL blocking for him. [Reply]

He won't fail, Reid is not going to let that happen. PM2 is the face of the Chiefs for the next 15 years.
It is going to be amazing watching him break every Chiefs passing record and bring multiple SB trophies home!! [Reply]
