Who knows when Luck will be back. Palmer, Rivers, and Roethlisberger have openly flirted with retirement. Who's to say a team like the Browns don't want a veteran AND a draft pick? If the Broncos plan is free agency, there's potential for a ton of competition. [Reply]

See, VJ was a good up and coming DC - he hadn't even had time to make his mark at that level yet. I'm sure he has good leadership qualities, but he wasn't ready to be a HC - especially for a team like the Last Place Denver Broncos who have a history of winning and have an impatient front office and an impatient and entitled fan base. I also think the front office greatly overestimated the talent on hand, especially at QB, and felt that it would provide VJ the needed pieces to maintain a winning record while learning on the job - Elway missed BIG on that scenario, so it put VJ in a bad situation.
