I wonder if the season has gotten too long now that they've expanded the playoffs plus added play in games. At least the most immediately fixable idea, in my opinion, is having even just a little common sense with scheduling. These guys constantly play back to back days of road games and in some cases 3. Yeah, stars totally weren't hurt (or didn't load manage), except when they were (did). How many years do you think Larry Bird played 82 regular season games? At least 80 games? How about Magic? How do you think the Spurs got Tim Duncan? [Reply]

Bird averaged 80 games a year until he was 32 and the back went. Magic was between 70-80 most of this career The Admiral about the same minus the 1 year.
Now go look up Luka and Kyrie's game played. [Reply]

So, you're saying they each got hurt? I don't disagree whatsoever. [Reply]

I know the nba claims that schedule density and travel dont play a role with injuries but I just don't buy it. It feels like am excuse for the nba to keep milking money and push nba teams to stop load management. I think it's more that these things make the regular season a longer grind even with minutes management that really start to hit hard in the playoffs. I wonder if all the load management restrictions this season also meant these players played more minutes than in recent seasons. [Reply]
