Silva is a much more talented fighter than GSP, IMO. Jones looks like he might be on his way to Silva status in LHW. He makes other fighters look foolish much the same way. I think Silva vs Jones would break all MMA records as far as money goes. [Reply]

I would be shocked if GSP took the risk to fight Silva [Reply]

The problem is GSP has never been dominated in a fight like Silva was for 23 mintues against Sonnen. GSP has got caught once with a punch against Serra, but never was man handled like Silva was. [Reply]

Silva is becoming more and more "main stream". He just signed with Nike and BK to do endorsements. Dana will not put him in a position to lose any time soon. [Reply]

It would be a good gamble for him however. If he wins then his star is off the charts, if he loses in a close fight many will say pound for pound he is probably the better fighter that just stepped up in weight and if he gets pounded most would say "oh well, he stepped up and fought a bigger guy". Losing to Silva wouldn't be a stain to most knowledgeable fight fans. Much more upside than down IMHO. Silva on the other hand has little to gain and a lot to lose in this match up IMO. [Reply]

If GSP sees the endorsment deals Silva just got (and he most assuredly does) he would be stupid to put himself in a position to lose without some huge money assurances. [Reply]

The perfect thing for the UFC to have a fight in Canada and GSP would win then set up a rematch in Brazil or vice versa. [Reply]

He would get those huge money assurances for taking this fight. Plus he could take the deals Silva just got to an even higher level if he wins. I would think that would be very attractive to him. Like I said before, I honestly don't think his marketability gets hurt at all if he were to lose to Silva. Only chance of that would be if he went out like a girl and tapped to strikes. [Reply]

Yeah that would be huge for all involved. PPV would set records and they could really pump up ticket prices to record levels as well. [Reply]

That would be the best fight of all time, but i bet Jones could dethrone the old lion, he's even quicker & more unorthodox imo. [Reply]
