To see what happens next... both sides just took some serious blows.... resistance damn near wiped out! But they live to fight (and recruit) another day... thanks to luke and his sacrifice. That holds no interest for you? That is star wars at it's core. [Reply]

I'm told that maul didnt die and returns in the clone wars. If that's true, and clone wars is canon, they why are we all assuming snoke is dead? [Reply]

The scene in Snoke's throne room was the highlight of the film.
A film that was garbage.
Last Jedi was about 3 things:
1) All the male heroes are either cowards, immoral, or morons. Forget what you think you know - SWLJ is there to correct the record.
2) Thank God for the female characters. Without them the galaxy would be lost.
3) You don't love Star Wars for the characters - you love it for the CGI, the space battles, and the unique aliens. Once Disney can purge this trilogy of those annoying original trilogy characters we can concentrate on CGI, space battles, and unique aliens.
For the record I would give The Force Awakens a B- rating. Not perfect, soft reboot, but enjoyable.
Last Jedi seems like it was written/directed by someone who never watched the original trilogy or Force Awakens. I couldn't most of it until Ray/Ren are in Snoke's rape dungeon and then I thought "Oh, oh wait, they might salvage this!"

No, they didn't...
Meh. I don't remember a Star Wars story having a truly happy ending once they started expanding the canon. You just can't have a good story without conflict. [Reply]

This, in no way, had anything to do with what I said... [Reply]
One thing that's becoming clear is that, for all the positives of this (media center) forum, it's useless when it comes to trying to get fair reviews of franchises and fanboy movies. [Reply]

Maul came back because it served the story.
I don't see how Snoke's lower half sliding across the throne room floor and reconnecting with his upper half serves this story, other than "holy shit that was amazing." [Reply]
I hate all the fanboys that hate this film. They've lost themselves in the expanded universe and their own expectations. I'm an original fan. Saw it opening day when I was 6. Star Wars was my life for the next ten years.
I didn't feel Lucas raped my childhood with the prequels and I loved this movie. Yes, it seems different from the other films, but that's not a bad thing. It's funny, but not in a forced way, and it has some of the best performances in the entire series. [Reply]
Rian Johnson is a HUGE Star Wars fan and it was all over this film.
So no male character makes a mistake (and by no I mean ALL) and are then corrected by a female character?

I don't know what that means so I'm probably not hardcore enough for that.
I did see it day 1. I don't give a shit about your books, or comix, or extended playground. The film couldn't even manage basic continuity (just the order of events)

You are either under 30 or just compelled to stupidity by the Cell phone pull to the dullard... [Reply]
