What was stopping Kylo from lying?

This is just a really strange point to be hung up on, especially with the inconsistencies of the Jedi Lore (especially related to bloodlines) in the prequels.
Answer to both those questions is nothing.

Kylo very well could have been lying and I hope he is/did it would make me Like TLJ more.

And Rey being strong enough to go toe to toe with Ben would mean she must be related to some pretty legendary Force user.

I fucking hope they retcon him somehow into the Obi Wan movies. I don't care if it doesn't make sense, give me more Maul/Kenobi dueling.

Imagine if Anakin started Revenge of the Sith by killing Darth ****ing Maul after a three movie arc compared to Count Dooku?
Dooku sucked but Grevious should have been awesome I remember how pumped I was to see him in ROTS after watching this.

Same, but after they nerfed him to **** in ROTS they may as well have called him a different name entirely. It still pisses me off to watch him in 3 for that reason.

Fucking this. Drives me nuts when I watch ROTS and count how many easy kill shots he has on Obi Wan. The choreography for that one fucking sucked.

This fight should have been the GOAT they turned it into over CGI trash.

They were going to have Anakin send a lava tsunami at Obi Wan near the end of that fight scene. Still makes me sad they didn't. That lightsaber twirl off is so ****ing horrible.

'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' has low initial audience scores

Is there a Russian force behind this?

I know it's hard to believe many things you see online these days, but a quick drift to the Rotten Tomatoes audience ratings for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" reveals a stunning number.

A mere 57 percent of the more than 83,000 audience reviewers said they liked it.

Without offering spoilers, some pointed to what they saw as misplaced humoristic shtick.

Some thought it was hard to follow what was going on. One even thought it had "no charm" and "no impactful revelations."

There was even talk of an abdication of traditional "Star Wars" norms.

Perhaps, you might think, this is the way audiences always react. An ungrateful bunch, at the best of times.

Yet the rather plain -- to my eyes -- "The Force Awakens" garnered an 88 percent audience approval rating. "Rogue One" enjoyed an 87 percent score.

Indeed, "The Last Jedi" appears to be the lowest-rated "Star Wars" movie among audiences. Even "Attack of the Clones" mustered a 57 percent rating.

Disney didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

The audience score, which certainly doesn't reflect the views of my colleagues here at CNET, is a marked contrast to that of the critics. Ninety-three percent see the movie as fresh and wonderful. (When it came to "Attack of the Clones," the critics gave it a 66 percent score, much closer to the audience members.)

The poor audience reception for "Last Jedi" is reflected in Metacritic scores too. While critics offer a healthy 86, users balk. There are currently more negative than positive user reviews out of the almost 1,500 posted. This leads to a mere 5.0 score.

It's hard to imagine that this movie won't be an enormous success, although opening night box office was slightly down on "The Force Awakens." Perhaps, as more people see it, the audience rating will rise.

Some though, might worry that the first reviewers tend to me the most committed Star Wars fans, those who live, breathe and bathe in the legend.

Could it be that they're the most disappointed of all?

Love the movie or hate it can't change the fact that it's highly rare for critics and Fans to disagree this much.

I actually found it on in the background last night as I was finishing some work. Couldn’t agree more. When the fight has them riding droids around over the lava it’s just so silly.

Except I'm a fan and i loved luke in this movie. Easily the best Luke has ever been. I know you wanted him to shed his hermit robe and decades of rust in a few days and then come out and kick total ass... but how realistic would that have been? The way rian added him back into the fight was freakin genius and completely believable given what he's said to have been doing with his time. He gave the resistance and leia everything her had left. Awesome.

He didn't do nothing... He didn't do any of the shit you wanted. He did what he wanted and Kurt was awesome. I just saw it a second time too. Liked it even better. Stuff that initially bugged me made more sense on second viewing. Holdo not telling poe her plan? She has just been elevated in her position... discussing her plan with poe would have been weak and would have confused who was in command. Especially since poe has already shown that he doesn't always respect authority. These are my orders... it's not a discussion. Etc. Etc. Second viewing even better than the first.

And, not to be a dick, but this is coming off a bit like a child that is throwing a fit because he didn't get exactly what he wanted for Christmas. I think you need to come into these movies with less expectations for what IS going to happen OR ELSE.
