Ok, so I'm an asst coCh of a 10u baseball team. Had a game tonight. I sorta sit off to the side and watch. I'm more of a practice coach.
Anyhow, I notice a dad bitching at the head coach and cussing at an asst coach in front of the boys. He called a coach "shit for brains".
Sooo, guy takes his kid and leaves the game in the 2nd inning. Calls coach a deuche? And I say " if you'd called me that, I'd be punchin your teeth in (. Building up biz). So guy comes back, gets in my face, I out him in a choke hold, and he gives. Takes his boy home. Sad deal. Soooo, I sent an email to aPologize for the whole thing , and the guy says he
Ll believe I'm sincere if I send it to all the Parents. Reeally?
What would y'all do? [Reply]
I never read anything positive about youth sports nowadays. Why are parents so obsessive and weird about your kids playing baseball? None of them are ever going to make it anyway.

Just have fun.
I've been both a coach and a parent/fan. My perspective is : if you don't like how the coach handles things, get your own team and coach your kid. Put all the time in for practices/games/administration of schedules/dealing with parents and then get upset. Until then, appreciate that someone cares enough to spend time with your kid. [Reply]

It's not just baseball. Parents want to live vicariously through their children. It's desperate and pathetic. I've helped out with a few junior golf tournaments, and the wailing and gnashing of teeth over a few fucked up golf shots by 12 year olds is appalling. [Reply]

I'm assuming pretty much everyone here played little league. Bad calls by umps happened every game. It's freaking junior high and elementary kids..who do you expect is out there calling the games?
And after a bad call was made EVERYONE knew the call was wrong. Coaches, players (on both teams), and parents in the stands. That was part of the learning experience. Knowing that not everytime in life things turn out the way you want them or even fairly. These dads that curse and attack referees, other parents, and other kids are setting such a horrible example for their kids. Most of the kids of these psychos know it too. But what can they do?

And it's. Always something like my kid doesn't get enough playing time.
If he didn't suck he would get a ton of playing time. Guess what he sucks. [Reply]
