The other thread is a dumpster fire. I'm sure this will become one as well, but might as well start with a clean slate. I'll at least try to keep the OP updated with any notable news. Feel free to PM me if I miss anything good.
Arrest warrant and potential charges:
Spoiler!
BREAKING: An arrest warrant has been issued for Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice in connection to his involvement in a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 75 in Dallas in late March, sources tell WFAA. https://t.co/XL3F7oCuW1

Collision involving injury carries a penalty of imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for not more than five years or confinement in the county jail for not more than one year, a fine fine not to exceed $5,000 or both. Collision involving serious bodily injury -- a third-degree felony -- carries a punishment of imprisonment in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice of not more than 10 years or less than 2 years. Aggravated assault -- a second-degree felony -- is punishable by two to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
TL;DR, his concern was at a 2, and now it's a 4 (out of 10). Still probably not a huge deal, but there are some concerning possibilities. Overall, though, he thinks it all gets pled down to misdemeanors, he misses a couple of games, and he writes some massive checks to those he injured.

#Chiefs Patrick Mahomes said he's worked with Rashee Rice throughout the offseason and will continue to do so while the legal process plays out for Rice..

Why's that? The guy is a fucking idiot. I'm not calling for his release or anything really but if it happens that he is released or can't play for however this plays out moving on will be easy. If and when he plays for the Chiefs I'll hope he plays well. Meanwhile I hope we draft another WR who turns out to be a better player then Rice who is good but not really great. [Reply]

This is a fair bit more measured than "I don't give a damn if he ever plays another down for the Chiefs..." [Reply]

2-4 game suspension but I still think 2 feels more likely. Again, we've gone over the array of personal conduct penalties not involving DV and it's a smorgasbord for far hairier shit that got 1-2 games.
What would stop some hot shot judge or prosecutor from saying no to a deal? I have always wondered this stuff because the process kind of just seems like a formality [Reply]
His last professional game was played from the home locker room of the Las Vegas Raiders. He had no choice in the matter, legally bound. Bad influence [Reply]

Time and money.
Do they have the resources to go to war over this? Is it a precedent they even WANT to set? I mean if they hang Rice for this, now are they going to find themselves in a situation where later defendants are less likely to be cooperative because they barbecued Rice? Do they really want to be going to war on these? [Reply]

Agreed, he’s starting at 8 and will be lucky to get it down to 6. There are optics here that look almost worse than the crimes. The NFL will punish him probably more than the justice system because they don’t have to go by the law. They can assume he was probably drunk and/or high while driving, and leaving the scene completely screwed him. It looks so bad.

Give the dude a break.
What does his race/ethnicity/skin color have to do with this?
Or is this one of those situations where you are low key letting us all know how you feel about certain people? (actual question, not an assumption) [Reply]
