Nzoner's Game Room>*****The Leo Chenal Thread*****
Dante84 09:23 PM 04-29-2022
More to come!

Leo Chenal was drafted with pick 103 of round 3 in the 2022 draft class. He scored a 9.99 RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 3 out of 2419 LB from 1987 to 2022. https://t.co/unnXwkfpiT #RAS #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/YdwWEkOnmR

Yep, we were poop pretty much everywhere on D, but I think you can (and we almost did) get away with being poor against the run. If you can't defend the pass and get after the QB, that's worse.

Their pass defense should be better this year in the back 7. Also Spags is going to be sending guys like Chenal and Cook on blitzes to help get after the QB

We were never going to get an elite front 4 with the way the offseason worked out. But we can get a hard as nails back 7 that covers

The interesting thing about our draft so far is that it seems we are very committed to stopping the run. The question will be how we hold up in an afc west that is better at passing than running.
I think with our versatile D picks so far we will be able to run both 4/3 or 3/4 when needed. And to your question about holding up against the pass I think our disruption will finally take care of that.

That's what I said earlier, we may use him more on the edge. Pretty excited for this pick.

This is probably my favorite pick of the draft because it has floor AND an enormous ceiling.

Chenel is immediately a great run defender and solid pass rusher. That can bring value in its own right and make him a solid Sam prospect in base packages.

And he has every physical tool you could ask for in becoming a good coverage player. He’s simply never been asked to do it. And it’s going to take some time to learn how. His feel in space will take some time.

But there’s legit horse 3-down backer potential. He can do some of the Devin White stuff where he gets downhill right now on 3rd downs with the ability to eventually just be a solid coverage player and thus be a real difficult guy to read and gameplan for.

I haven’t fully settled on ‘ranking’ picks, but he’s up there. Hard to find anything to not be excited about here.

Spags definitely has some guys that he can blitz with.

The days of being runned on are over!!

“Guys, how do we make our defense more physical?”

“I know. Let’s get the guy that has freaking ‘Death Row’ written all the way up his right arm.” https://t.co/FPykImQY19

I wonder if Chiefs will use a 7th or a UDFA on Leo Chenal brother, John Chenal, a FB for Wisconsin Badgers.

Michael Burton was solid last year, but Chiefs are a team that keeps a FB, and maybe he would be a good backup or practice squad guy.

No. You don't get a new fullback. You a fullback at home that you barely even play with.

Burton was excellent for us last year and he already has pro experience

I’m not drafting a FB. A FB should be an UDFA at best unless it’s Mike Alstott
