Well I'm not a whiskey drinker, so that might be why I like it. Honestly, I've never appreciated even the "best" scotch/bourbon/whiskey, I don't even like tequila, so I was surprised that I like this this flavored stuff. Probably because it's flavored.. [Reply]

I don't consider myself one, either. I'll enjoy an Old Fashioned or Whiskey Sour, and I've experimented a little with bourbon. I have a bottle of Elijah Craig that's incredibly smooth at 47%, which is a great noob bourbon.
I tried the Jim Beam peach and it has a harshness that ruins it for me, but I'm kind of a wuss when it comes to that. [Reply]

"Harsh" is pretty-much how I've always described bourbon or scotch. I guess I'm a wuss that way too. As for tequila, I've always wondered what made the person who invented it decide to bottle it instead of try something new. And grappa is even worse... It's just terrible. It was a "qualification drink" on my submarine back when hazing was legal.

I've never tried good tequila, just the cheap stuff that you throw into a margarita... but, I've wondered if it's like the difference between a typical whiskey and Elijah Craig, or maybe it all sucks. :-)

I've tried some spendy tequila, I found that it just made the margarita I ended up putting it in an expensive margarita. That seemed nicer that pouring it into a potted plant and possibly killing the plant. [Reply]
