Rebuild? They need to patch up the defense and break in a young QB, but they're not the NY Giants. EB will be back. They'll be competing for a division title again next year, and if Mahomes lives up to the hype, maybe much more . . . . . [Reply]

You have a lot of holes to fill but you don't have any cap space and you only have 4 draft picks.
And yeah, KC can cut players to create cap room but you don't have any depth to replace the guys you cut. [Reply]

Your entire roster is dog shit and the receivers and corners are getting old. Von is also declining. [Reply]

They really don't have a ton of holes to fill. And as you mentioned, they can literally cut 4 no longer necessary players (Alex, Tamba, DJ and Colquit) and get all the cap space they need. We're moving on to the Mahomes era next year, for better or worse. Tamba is over the hill and too injury prone. Age has finally caught up with DJ and it's time to move on from him (which is partly why we made the trade for Ragland) and Colquit is not the elite punter he was a few years ago. Time to bring in a rookie FA on a min. salary deal.
That will leave KC plenty of money to fill holes through FA and as you mentioned, we only have 4 picks (including no 1st rounder) in the draft, so don't have to set aside very much money for that allotment.
The only one Real HUGE area of concern for next year that KC will need to address is pass rush. Houston is good, but not the the guy he was 3 years ago.
Ford has proven to be unreliable. We will need to sign an impact FA here or get lucky and 'hit' on a guy that drops with our second round pick.
If they can significantly address the pass rush in the off-season, they'll be fine and probably the favorite to win the AFC West again. How far they can go beyond that will hinge on the development of Mahomes. [Reply]
