OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

I'm not willing to do so.
What it comes down to for me is whether or not the defense is good enough to at least "disrupt" elite offenses.

The Saints performance against the Rams is a perfect example. Yes, they gave up 35 points, but you know what? We will win 90% of our games against elite offenses if we hold them to 35 points.

The defense can't however, perform as they did in the first half against the Pats or the 2nd half against the Steelers. Yes, we beat the Steelers - but it makes those games a coin-flip if not a roll of the dice in January. And history has proven, defenses that porous make it really tough to win three straight in January.

If the defense can at least disrupt opposing offenses at least occasionally - I'll be happy. That's what I'm looking for against the Rams and the Chargers.

They gave up 1 score in the 2nd half of that Steelers game prior to Conley fumbling and the Chiefs just trying to bleed clock. They had one absolute shit quarter against Pittsburgh where they gave up 21 but outside of that, the defense did exactly what you're asking for; they played....fine.

Not great, mind you, but okay.

4 stops. That's what they need; just 4 stops. And with a mostly healthy roster and increased cohesion from a defense that was rebuilt over the offseason (in an era where practice time is reduced), I think that's a very makeable goal.

They'll need to prove it in the post-season to get that shit taste out of our mouths from the absolutely awful Patriots performance (especially the 1st half), but I think they can do it.

Quick throws like Brady

Arm like Favre

Pocket presence of Rodgers

Pre-snap reads like Manning

It used to be considered a joke to compare him to the greats. Now, it's reality.

Good efficiency while throwing with the left hand, just like Steve Young

I completely forgot about Conley’s fumble. That dude has had some unfortunate errors in what’s likely a job defining season in this offense.

I agree - the Pitt game is what I’m looking for - I spaced on the specifics in that second half.

Boy, he doesn't have Marino's release though.

He's got a little more dip and windup on his throw. Doesn't mean much since the ball flies out at a trillion miles per hour, breaking the sound barrier and warping time/space.

PMII has different launch points like Favre and his release is more like Warren Moon's

I've never seen anybody whip it out faster than Marino.

Maybe Favre?

Maybe Favre?

Marino's release is the quickest I've ever seen.

Jeff George supposedly timed quicker, but on the field Marino's bested George's by far.
