Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

Nagy's done a great job in the near term of dealing with Trubisky's weaknesses and playing to his strengths. The problem is that there's a shelf life for what he's doing. At some point he can't just keep playing the slice here - he has to make Trubisky's scattershot accuracy and questionable decision-making BETTER. He can't just keep playing around it.
I agree that Nagy's done a nice job of winning some ballgames where a more headstrong offensive guy could be at 2 wins and in the process of truly wrecking Trubisky by just forcing that square peg into a round hole. But at some point he needs to round the corners off the peg here. I don't fault him for not doing it yet, but the clock is ticking on Mitch. There needs to be a lot of development over the coming years there.
Heck, yesterday it seems the QB didn’t matter at all for Chicago. Buffalo had 4 turnovers. At least one of them went for 7 points and I am guessing the other 3 setup short fields for points. Trubisky had a passer rating of 76/158 and ESPN QBR of 49/100 on 60% completions for 135 yards and 1 TD/1 INT.
Bears rushing game wasn’t great either and they scored 41 points. 64 yards rushing and 190 total yards on offense. Must be nice to have a great defense contributing points and short fields for easy points. Wish the Chiefs had the Bears defense. [Reply]

Here's the thing about the Bears though - do they have ANY chance to win anything this year?
No.
Next year? Probably not, they burned a ton of draft capital to get Mack and their cap situation is worse than ours. They don't have a 1 the following year either. Where is their room for growth/upside? Anthony Miller look like a guy that's going to change their fortunes? Jordan Howard?
Sure, I'd like their defense - but that's the point; it isn't about defense anymore. They've allocated a ton of resources to building a solid D and in so doing they've ensured they won't really win anything of consequence for the next 3-4 years and then they have to make a decision on Trubisky without knowing exactly what he's going to be.
Right now that guy smells a lot like Bortles and the Bears have a similar long-term outlook to me. [Reply]
From the team who's greatest claim to quarterback fame is Jim McMahon? That's rich.
Also, I hate it when our good coaches leave, and I wouldn't mind seeing Nagy come back if and when Reid decides to retire. [Reply]
Bears are coasting on a cupcake schedule, they haven't beaten a single team with a winning record. They're going to win the division and get wrecked by Carolina or New Orleans in the first round. [Reply]
Meanwhile they have a thread on there bragging about how Trubisky is on pace for the best statistical season of a Bears QB. Wonder if the Andy Reid offense has anything to do with it...oh wait, no...it's ALL Mitch. None of those gadget screens and shovel passes from Nagy have anything to do with it.
Funny thing is I seem to remember people criticizing Mahomes for always going after the deep ball and never taking the checkdown. Today he torched the Browns with a lot of checkdowns...now getting criticized for that too. LOL
You know you're in a highly educated forum discussing in-depth football nuances when you have that and this quote on the same page:

Love it. As an aside, Cam may not be our best lineman but he's awesome. Sticks up for Pat, flips off fans, throws shit back into the crowd... Gotta love his attitude and enthusiasm [Reply]
