OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

It's combined rush+receiving. But the bulk of it comes on the ground. Gurley needs 17 more TDs in 8 games, I doubt he even gets close tbh. And Gurley might not even get 8 games because there is a strong chance he sits week 17 when the Rams have nothing to play for.

LT has both records, 28 rushing and 31 total. Gurley is way behind pace on the rushing TD stats. 11 rushing TD through 8 games is on pace for 22. But he has 4 receiving TD's through 8 games.

So he is on pace for 30 total. LT's total was 31. He has a pretty decent shot at that record thanks to the Rams passing offense using Gurley as often as it does.

4 receiving TDs isn't that much. Especially when he needs 17 TDs in 7 or 8 games. It'd be pretty shocking if Gurley gets 32 TDs this year even after this first half.

4 in 8 games is pretty good considering LT only had 3 for the entire season.

It's a different era of football though. Which is why Gurley won't break the record, he won't earn enough on the ground to keep pace and the few passing TDs he gets won't be enough to compensate.

Gurley has had an unsustainable TD rate so far and is still behind where he needs to be to break the record.

What the hell does a RB do for a team? What? Take ball. Run ball. That's it.

The QB does 10 other things at the same time. That's why they always get the MVP vote. And our guy is the best. Shame he can't win Rookie of the Year too, which is what he basically is.

Nah, he's not a rookie in any sense, he was on a NFL team for a full year prior to this one. Leave giving awards to fake rookies to the NBA.

Same can be said for Mahomes on pace for 52 and the record is 55, though hopefully he can pile up some really good TD numbers on teams like the Cardinals and Raiders (twice) down the stretch.

I don't think Mahomes will break the record either. He probably has a better chance than Gurley though simply because passing TDs are easier to compile en mass and the passing records aren't as hard to break as Tomlinson's. Manning's TD record will be broken, it's just a matter of time as rule changes make passing easier and easier. 31 tds from scrimmage could stand for a while yet.

I am just hoping Pat can make it to 50. That would be amazing. :-)

Khalil Mack.

He's got the big market advantage, like Barkley who is also top 5.

KC isn't a big enough market to be interesting without an elite QB. Now, we have a QB so fucking electric that everyone simply HAS to talk about the Chiefs. You couldn't ignore them if you tried.
Exactly. May they throat Midwest Mahomes schlong for decades.

That whole team and franchise are fabricated and invalid. They didn't have to suffer through building shit. Fuck them, and I hope KC guts their asses every fucking time we play.
