In 2003 Priest Holmes had 690 receiving yards, 1420 yards rushing, and scored 27 rushing TDs, which I believe was a record or one away from the record. And Jamal Lewis rushed for 2066 yards.
The AP MVP was given to Peyton Manning and Steve McNair. (Lewis was the Sporting News MVP but no one really cares about that one.)
QBs have traditionally been favored over RBs. If Mahomes gets into the high 40s in TD passes, and throws for 4500 yards, and keeps his interceptions below 15, and he doesn't win, it will be bullshit.
