Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]
"Hey coach, fun question. In the era of 24-hour sports news and commentary, we're going to talk about who is MVP at Week 8 of this season. Nothing bad happens to you if you're wrong or if you don't mention somebody who actually wins it. You don't lose money, nothing happens to your family, and most people probably forget you even said anything. It's just for kicks to take up airtime on TV. So who is the Week 8 MVP?"
"*heavy breathing* Well, I don't want to say, because *breathes heavy* all that matters is who *huuuuuuuuu* wins it at the end of the... season."
They need to get Mangini the fuck off TV. How the fuck do you get a job as a commentator when you refuse to have an opinion. The annoyance he displays when anyone dares to ask him a question is infuriating. [Reply]

Well he’s not throwing into a lot of tight windows, so it’s a small sample size.
And anybody who’s worried about Mahomes deep ball long term is a ****ing moron. I have zero concern about that.
Also, I’d love to actually see these stats. [Reply]

I wonder if your buddy has any idea how many of those throws were made before the receivers were wide open.
Or if he knows how many times the receivers were wide open because of Mahomes ability to extend plays.

Tom Brady looked like shit early on before Edelman and Gordon were on the team. Having receivers who can get open allows great QBs to flourish, not just survive. If your QB is constantly throwing into tight windows you generally have subpar receivers or subpar plays. I would argue making a high percentage of those kind of throws over a season will correlate with a high interception rate as well. [Reply]
I'd also argue that anticipation on throws means you are not having to hit the tight window necessarily. If you wait, the window closes and it's a tighter throw. [Reply]

Since we all seem to be giving you some options, how about "Up yours, retard!" [Reply]

Patrick Mahomes is off to a torrid start that rivals any in NFL history.
Through eight games in 2018, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback has thrown for 26 touchdowns, 2,526 yards, and a 115.3 passer rating.
Let's put some of his stats into perspective with the help of the indefatigable NFL Research team:
» Mahomes became the fourth QB in NFL history with 25-plus passing TDs in the first eight games of season, joining Peyton Manning (2013; 29 TDs), Tom Brady (2007; 30 TDs) and Peyton Manning (2004; 26 TDs). Previous three set the all-time, single-season pass TD record and won MVP.
» Mahomes is on pace to throw for 5,051 pass yards and 52 pass TD this season -- would be second-most TDs in NFL history.
» Mahomes has 300-plus passing yards in seven straight games, tied for the fourth-longest streak in NFL history (Drew Brees twice got to 9 games; Andrew Luck, 8; Peyton Manning, 7).
» Mahomes as many pass TD in eight games this season (26) as Alex Smith had during the 2017 season (26).
» With Mahomes helming the crew, the Chiefs have scored the most points (290) through the team's first eight games of a season in franchise history.
In just nine career starts, Mahomes has put his name next to some of the best ever to play.
» Mahomes has 26 passing TD in his first nine career games, the most in a player's first nine games in the Super Bowl era (next closest: Kurt Warner with 24).
» Mahomes has the second-highest passer rating (111.1) by a player in his first nine career games in the Super Bowl era (Warner sits No. 1 with 116.1)
» Since 1950, no quarterback has thrown for more completions (209), yards (2,810) and touchdowns (26) in the first nine games of his career.
In summation:
This Mahomes guy, he's preetttty preeetttttty, preeeettttttty, pretty good.

Oh, so what you are telling me is Mahomes is the best QB in the game at finding his open receiver?
