Yeah, according to Professor Brown. Just have to make sure you eat enough rice, get the proportions right.

Blackstone flat iron steak, grilled tomatoes, potatoes, onions , and a zucchini medley.

Tell me you portion your food without telling me you portion your food

Looks great though, steak looks perfect

More boneless pork chops. Tried Dan-O's green top seasoning, marinated in a little mirin and soy sauce, flamed them with some leftover bourbon. Simple oven-baked potatoes and onions. Same seasoning with a couple dashes of spicy Cachere's Cajun seasoning. Chops developed a great bourbon-flavored crust

I do portion my food. :-) The taters were a Friday night treat. I usually don't do empty carbs like taters but these were a wonderful indulgence.

My wife wanted the thinner end since it's a little less rare, but I won't hold THAT against her (but I did point and laugh)... :-) I'll add that flank, skirt, and flat iron steaks that are marinated in a vacuum marinator, cut cross-grain on a steep bias are amazingly flavorful and chewy. 20 minutes in the vacuum tumbler and the marinade is pulled into the middle of the meat.

I had a Doctor tell me once to make a fist. He said that fist is about the size of your stomach. Your breakfast lunch and dinner should each be the size of your fist or smaller.

Yeah I didn't listen to that guy:-). Until I reached near fifty and my metabolism started slowing down.

Ain't that the truth. I'm lucky that I live an active life, much more now that I'm retired from IT, but portion control matters. As does the between-meal snacks.

Hyvee had their 12 oz strips on sale for $9. Touch too thin for my liking but it was worth it. Pork loin from the freezer in some sort of herb marinade.

Sweet corn and baked potatoes for sides
