The big anti-hijack thread.....
Talk about anything, but if this works than we don't have to keep looking around all the threads to see who is still on tonight, and every night, or even every day! Talk about the chiefs, talk about tomorrow, talk about football, politics or even how to do flooring and the applicable budget. What you're drinking, how hard it is to sleep, etc. Every thing is acceptable in this thread.....

Do you usually drink wine with food or without?
I tried the Chenin Blanc with some lasagna. Didn't go together so well. Once I had a glass on it's own, I loved it. Saturday night, I had a Smoking Loon Pinot Noir. Wasn't bad.

Just getting into wine, which means within the last few weeks. I'm still not sure what all I'll like and not like. There are some wineries in Missouri. I really should make that my next road trip.
The first time I ordered wine in a restaurant I was on a date with a girl who was completely too high society for me- we were a terrible match. Of course, she was very beautiful and I really enjoyed discussing literature with her so I endured the associated interests in balet and food snobbery. Anyway, we were at this she-she restaurant and the waiter comes over to get our drink order. My date ordered a Cabernet. The waiter turns to me and I freeze for a second becuase at this time I know nothing about wine. Trying to avoid embarrassment about my wine-ignorance I decided to order the same thing as my date. Unfortunately, I thought she had ordered a caberet. Good times. At least she and the waiter had fun.
Visiting wineries is good because you can taste a number of wines for cheap or free and usually the guy/ gal pouring the wine is happy to tell you what's what. That said, I have never had wine from Missouri, never knew they made wine there so my expectations would be low.

I always thought wine was "high class". If I'm drinking it, though...
Eh. Just a good way to sit back and relax. Read a book, watch a movie, having a good conversation with an old friend....it's just relaxing. I don't see anything high class about it.
