I agree with Scott. Love an Italian beef sandwich. I've never had Portillo's, but I live in Jay's Beef delivery territory. They'll bring a dipped sandwich to my door and I'll crush it leaned over the sink like its nothing. [Reply]

You're up there in Chicagoland, definitely try Portillos next time... I swear you wont be disappointed
And I nearly fell outta my chair when I seen their prices, krazy low for a big city, the regular size beef is $5.69... a big mac is almost that much by itself [Reply]

I'm going to do that. For some reason I thought that Portillo's in the city was way far from me, but I pulled it up on the map and its not as far as I thought. Kind of close to my wifes work actually, I may see if she wants to meet there for lunch. I've had their dog, but never the beef sandwich. [Reply]

Yeah, I've tried those. The recipe calls for breadcrumbs and heavy cream, soaked for 10 minutes. I think the ratio is too little on the cream side. [Reply]

Once it soaks, you should be able to just give it a stir. What's the problem, why are you thinking you need a processor? I don't think I've ever used a processor for a panade. [Reply]

Yes, which is why I suspect that the liquid to crumb ratio is off. Just a clumpy mess. [Reply]

And without a doubt that sandwich was exponentially better than the Big Mac. [Reply]
