Sounds awesome.

I had planned to go with a FAST system as well. I have spent the last 6-8 months researching EFI systems and plan to go with this.

Lots of good systems out there but these guys have a ton of flexibility built in and the feedback is awesome from the reviews.

If you aren't looking to do over 600HP you can add a system for $1400 with everything. Check out their fuel command center, its kind of ingenious.

Wow. That is a lot cheaper than what I have been looking at.

I still have some research to do on the throttle-body EFI systems.

Holley has a good one too.

On the motor end I basically started with a hypo 327/350hp motor from a 68' vette. Bored to .331. Kept the steel crank, pink rods and 10:1 flat top pistons. Swapped cam to the Extreme Energy Hydraulic Roller cam. Duration 276/282, Lift .502/.510. Slapped on a set of Brodix Aluminum heads with 200cc Intake Runners. Plans are to add an EZ EFI system next.

Running with a 700r4 and a Hughes Performance 3,000 stall. Should work nice with the 3:73 posi I have in the rear.

My buddy is friends with the Editor at Car Craft magazine who ran all of my spec's. Says it should come in around 425-440hp.

I actually installed cruise control in this sumbitch too.
:-)
Nice! I am really a fan of a lot of these older sports cars with modern suspension and PS etc. Did you think about going with a LS/LQ motor?

Nice choice with the auto. What rear end is it? My current car is a t56 and I just really liked my 4l60e better.. and its just faster, easier to drive, smoother... and just damn better.

Never again t56!

I am a big fan of the smaller v8s. Had a built 283 in an old 57' chevy truck that would scream and fell in love with them ever since.

All of my hotrod friends have 396's, 454's or 383 strokers. Come to think of it, seems like every other hotrod has a stroker motor in it these days.

You just don't see too many 327's nowadays. That's for sure. :-)

Too many episodes of Street Outlaws.
Hey man, if you want to drive a turbo, come work for me. This one has a big ass turbo on it!

ZOMG Armageddon is upon us!

Nice looking pickup man. I'll say it again, you're way tougher than me owning a black rig. My pearl white one I posted recently is tough enough to keep clean.

Eh. I don't have too much trouble as long as the rows aren't too close together the no-turning motherfucker. My buddy has the 3/4 ton crew cab that has the extended cab box on it, so it's longer. And it's not really all that much longer. Like 8 or 10 inches or something. But it ends up being roughly a quarter mile.

My body shop buddy and his wife were there to pick us up and go to dinner and he was telling her keep parking like that and sooner or later he was gonna get paid.

And I'm also taking the 4x4 off the side. Gonna take the rear spring spacers out and see if I can get it sitting level, and sooner or later settling on some wheels
Hilarious.

Yeah, I'd change out the wheels if I were you. The fenders are made for the ginormous wheels. I don't know what you're thinking, but some of the GM wheels are pretty decent looking.

Oh, and do the wheels fairly soon so you can dump the factory tires without wear. I still have them on mine and they are beyond worthless.

With the success of the Challenger Hell Cats/392's/SPS's every car manufacture is going in with these big blocks. Camero has a 6.2L 500HP coming out this year. Ford is expanding their GT line with 600 HP line of cars. I expect the big blocks to stay around until the V8's are banned.

Yeah. Chevy, Dodge and Ford are definitely in a battle for who has the biggest and baddest hp right now. Going to be really tough to top the Hellcat, but I imagine somebody will eventually. That's kind of cool to see. Nothing I would want to have on the street though.

I am fine with 425-450hp. Should be more streetable and funner to drive. For me, anyways.

I have a backup plan. If I want to go with a little more power I am going to go with a little roots blower. Like the Weind 142.

Isn't the 6.2 a small block? Same with Ford's Coyote motor. True Big Blocks are a relic of the past, same with Long Tube headers. People still love them and love the coolness factor, but you can achieve the same kind of output these days with Small blocks and shorties. 99% sure the 6.4 in your Dodge is technically a high displacement small block, along with the chevy 6.2. We've put 392's in some cars we've built in the shop, but they were all 351W based dart blocks.

Big blocks are not relics, anything over 2k hp you want to go to a big block.

I think he means factory.

To his point GM doesn't make a big block motor anymore. All V8s are LS motors.

The new chevy sports car stuff are actually LTs again :P

But yes.. all your LS/LQ motors that enthusiasts love are small blocks.

I had a 396 stroker in my black T/A and i REALLY loved that car. However, my 396 was an LS small black with a massive stroke and is a different 396 than you think of, since the old 396 was a big block motor.

You are mostly right here except shorty headers still suck dick ~

I do dig the builds they are doing these days with small blocks to match the big block numbers. ie: 427 and 454 small block builds.
