Hopkins cost about $516K less each week that goes by, soooo give its like 3 more paychecks until the trade deadline. SO at the deadline he should cost us around $4.65M or so versus like $6.2M now! Maybe Veach thinks its worth $1.6M to wait and with us being undefended why not wait till deadline I guess.
I think we only have a tad bit over 5m in cap space, so this is actually plausible.
Hopkins is basically Rice in terms of ability and playing style, so I’d be pretty excited to add him. Plus by the time Rice is able to return to the field (after rehab and possible suspension) Hopkins will be ready to hang ‘em up and will have gotten a ring. [Reply]

I don't think Hopkins is going to produce the YAC that Rice does - that's just a rare skill - but he's better at receiver things than Rice is. He's going to make better sight adjustments and is better through contract and a better full-tree-route runner.
If the Titans are willing to move him, it's worth a look for sure. He's a veteran who is also a hard-working craftsman, so he'd fit in well and could be a midseason ramp-up, I think. [Reply]

He had a hammy issue at practice today. Released like an hour after this post.

Both Mike Williams and Mike Evans used to torch us in every game against them.
Not sure if much left in their tanks but low risk low cost signings are Veach's specialty. [Reply]

Oh, I know. just saying, Williams just didn't look like Mike Williams the other night. Maybe that's more about the idiocy of Hackett's offensive system, idk. But his relative lack of production through 6 games, and then his injury history make me a little wary. [Reply]

I picked up JuJu this week and now he has a hammy issue that limited him today in practice after a full pratice yesterday. Strictly from a Chiefs standpoint, it's as if the football gods refuse to let Mahomes have even an average WR group at his above disposal, let alone an above average - very good (dare we say elite) one. Hopefully he could be a healthier Sammy for this team. That would definitely help a ton. [Reply]
