There's a lot more to being a great NFL WR than speed. Coaches and GMs just cannot overlook these speedsters. Even minds like Veach and Reid get sucked into it. Al Davis was obsessed by it as well when pursuing WRs. The Raiders would always draft fast WRs who couldn't do anything else but run a straight line.
I'd trade Worthy's speed for attributes like awareness, more size, and better hands.
But yes, he's a rookie so it's too early to pronounce him Mecole Hardman or Skyy Moore. If Hollywood Brown can come back, that should free up Worthy a lot more. [Reply]

Nah - Rice was showing growth every week. We just weren't emphasizing him in the route progression.
Worthy's actually regressed. Maybe that's harsh, but at worst he certainly hasn't gotten better.
I'm not writing him off by any stretch and his speed DOES make a difference even when he's playing poorly. But let's not try to sugarcoat things with Xavier. He's been pretty damn bad and seemingly getting worse. [Reply]

Not sure I’d say last week in Vegas was a regression but SF and TB games were really bad for him.
That sideline gaff was really bad. Situational awareness has to be there. Come back to the ball if you are on the sideline.
