Eh.
Again, if it's just a fibula, he can get on a bike and keep himself in shape pretty quickly. It'll just be a question of that bone 'firming up' for the last couple of weeks.
He could be cleared for non-contact activity pretty quickly, I would think. And stay in shape to hit the ground running at full speed. [Reply]
For as awesome as Veach is at his job there always seems to be some area that he neglects. RB was my number one bitch this offseason. I really wanted Antonio Gibson. Frankly I was shocked when the Patriots game him a 3 year 12M deal.
Re. Carson, I love the kid but some if you seem to be rooting more for a story than doing whatever it takes to win another Super Bowl. He's depth, he's a toy to play with, he can't be the focus of our running game. Trust me, 31 other NFL teams will just sit in two high and say we will take the odds that Steele won't beat us.
We are lucky as hell to have Samaje Perine. He needs to be the starter.
If I were advising Veach, and I am in KC this week, I'd tell him to call Ryan Poles and got get Herbert for the Bears. Dude is a nice back that can help Perine keep defense honest. [Reply]

Hope you're correct. I've seen all the twitter docs - all of them - sadly say he would be < 100% upon return.
But if it's a simple fracture, I would think it is at 6-8 weeks, then I don't see why he couldn't get back to 100 by December/Jan. [Reply]

Too bad there aren't substances out there that could help the players heal faster and come back stronger. [Reply]

Steele is closer to a starting level RB than Perine and it's not even close. [Reply]
