I do think this moves the needle a bit if he can play. Mason allows the 49ers to play with both dimensions and Spags can't just tee off on Purdy.
But the run defense is so damn good this year it may not matter.

Why? Perhaps you missed SB LVIII but SF scored 19 before overtime and that was with a healthy CMC and a trick play that should have been called back on a penalty. Mason strikes zero fear in Spags. [Reply]
