It's when the offense isn't ahead or behind by a bunch.

I didn't know either.

These stats are computed from NFL Drive Charts and Scoring Summaries. The concept of situation-neutral pace was introduced in Pro Football Prospectus 2005. The Time Stats table displays Time of Possession and Game Time breakdowns for each team.

They have two 1st round picks, two 2nd round picks and a 6th round pick as starters.

And not exactly an insignificant amount of cap space invested in the OL to boot.

I know the sack numbers are nice but I still put most of that on Mahomes. I've not been generally impressed by the amount of time he's had to throw, especially considering the fact that teams really can't gamble too often getting after him when there are that many guys in the pattern that can hurt them.

The Pats were getting pressure with 3 on fair occasions last week. That's not great, Bob.

Thanks for the explanation of "neutral situation" guys ... appreciate it.

As an expression of my gratitude, here's a nice little breakdown of THT by Matt Waldman.

Their "Bring the house" blitz was something to behold, though.

That's a testament to Mahomes ability. Our OL is not great. Mahomes rolls out a lot to make plays. Running for his life way too much.

And excelling with every step. Shit, that's his bread and butter. I'd get Mahomes a defense before going all-in on replacement fatties.

They're trying to Mahomes-proof the field.

Fellow nerds: Patrick Mahomes leads the NFL with an 85.0 QBR. The distance between him and second-place Drew Brees is greater than the distance between Brees and fifth-place Ryan Fitzpatrick. Tom Brady is sixth. #math
