Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?
Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? [Reply]
Last night the house judiciary committee was hearing 18 anti gun bills ranging from magazine restrictions, to "assault" weapons bans, to disassembly of preemption.
A couple thousand patriots, clad in yellow garb, decended upon the state house to voice our opposition to these measures. The hearing, with hours of testimony, lasted until around 1am. All of the bills were tabled, which is the best results the 2a community can hope for in this area.
The battle continues, get involved in your local and state legislation now. Some day these progressives will infest your general assemblies too, and it will become alot harder to get involved.
Give them an inch they take a mile. No more compromise. [Reply]
Let’s talk about my suppressor wait time. I’ve now been waiting over a year. Extremely ridiculous. 99.9% of the time I forget I even ordered it. Them bitches should give me my $200 tax stamp back. [Reply]

A Year!?!? Seriously? Who did you purchase the suppressor from? A friend of mine bought a suppressor for his AR-10 from SilencerCo and got it 8 weeks later...
A year? Methinks they forgot about your order.... :-) [Reply]

I think he is referring to the ATF tax stamp paper work. [Reply]

You should write your congress people. They might be able to make an inquiry with the agency on your behalf. Don't go nuts, be specific, and give them the opportunity to pressure some people. [Reply]

But, we're assured they'd never infringe upon our rights.
... but dragging the process out so long you die before you actually you get the gun/accessory seems reasonable.
Seems like you have an opportunity to be used as an example for those on the fence with these issues. Not that I'd wish that kind of public scrutiny/attention on anyone I actually liked. [Reply]

Holy Cow! Talk about back log!!! Sounds more like - "Yes, suppressors are legal, but we'll hold up the paperwork so long that you NEVER get one". Damned shame. [Reply]
I have a 700 sitting in my home (as we type). Had it for the last 25 or so years. Hell, maybe 30.
There is no better "long range" rifle (except maybe for Barret) that I can think of at the moment. I use mine for Deer and have taken my fair share with that bad boy.
Let's put it this way - I'm not familiar with that variant but I'll bet anything that it will knock a doe or a buck down at 500 meters with absolutely no effort. And, if you get really squirrely, and want to test it, I would be safe to bet you could do the same at 800-900 meters with the right ammo and scope. [Reply]

Shop around for a used 700 before committing to a 783. The 783 is the redheaded step child, bastardized version of the 700. It will shoot okay, but parts, triggers, magazine replacements, barrels, bolts, etc will be much harder to find. If that doesn't matter to you, grab a 783. It will do the same thing as pretty much any bolt gun. [Reply]
