Did you notice at the end that Rey stole the entire set of Journal of the Whills and has them stored in a drawer on the Falcon?
Spoiler!
yes... I'm going to re-see it tomorrow, but I thought that's what I saw. I wonder if that's why yoda was so flippant in torching the tree. No harm no foul.

She did have the Journal of Whills in the Falcon with her? Yeah Luke didn't go into the tree to see them. It was pretty cool that Yoda as a Force ghost can shoot lighting from the sky to burn the tree down [Reply]

I don't see them as "breaking" force canon, merely expanding on it. As TFA did.
As...pretty much all Star Wars movies have done.
I mean there was some crazy force shit going on in The Clone Wars and you love that shit, Dane.
I don't have a problem with Luke Skywalker, the most fucking powerful Jedi ever, showing us Astral Projection. I just don't. It was fucking badass, and totally zen shit that George Lucas would be down with. [Reply]

Spoiler!
Yoda's interaction in the physical world was just plain stupid.
He's dead. Or he's not. Which is it? And if he's not dead, where has he been for the last 30+ years?

Spoiler!
Leia, who never used the Force, could create some type of Force Bubble in space and how Yoda could interact in the physical world.
Silly
SHE'S THE DAUGHTER OF DARTH VADER.
Spoiler!
And you don't think, in the 30 years since Jedi, she learned how to give herself a little force push in zero gravity?
C'mon. It was beautiful.
We got to see Princess Leia...who obviously has some genetic ability to use the Force...use the Force. For the first time...ever. I gasped. I teared up.
And the scene was executed gracefully and beautifully. Just like the character. There was no goofy ass force jumps or anything. She didn't force choke Poe.
I've been reading about Leia using the force in books and comics for decades. And suddenly, out of nowhere, it was happening in a movie, in a total believable way.
As a Star Wars fan, that was just plain cool. It was fun!!!!
