Were all the FO ships out of gas too? Just hyperspace closer.
Stupid.
Spoiler!
no idea if you can hyperspace that close of a distance. We've never seen something like that - but that obviously doesn't mean it can't be done. And I hear you on the FO not caring if the ties make it back... like I said, it's thin but it isn't implausible either. If you are of the opinion that victory is inevitable, someone like Hux, while acting annoyed, might prefer to let it play out slowly. No fun watching victory from way off in the distance when there is absolutely nothing to suggest that seeing it up close and personal poses any kind of risk.
Was Snoke just a complete red herring? Because other than being a guy at the academy who pushed Kylo to the dark side, and a generic evil bad guy leader, he now seems completely unimportant.
He's like a discount Emperor who's backstory is pretty meaningless at this point.
It's either that or JJ had some grand design for him and Rian convinced the Lucasfilm/Disney brass it would serve the story better if he were offed.
I'll admit to being a little disappointed that the most powerful force user in the galaxy isn't going to have a big deus ex machina showdown with someone now. I really liked him when he was on screen.
What I actually wanted to happen was the force vampire thing to be partially true, but that he needed a being of immense/comparative power to fully regenerate, and that is why he wanted to find Skywalker so badly. Luke was going to be captured at the end of this one, setting up IX, where our heroes have to rescue The Last Jedi before Snoke can regenerate fully.

Snoke was the McGuffin.
He was killed by Kylo Ren and takes his place as the Supreme Leader of the First Order. With no Republic and less than 20 Resistance fighters, all of whom fit inside the Millennium Falcon, Kylo Ren achieved what Darth Vader could not: Ruler of the Galaxy.
What needs to happen in Episode IX is that either Kylo Ren, once again, destroys the Jedi Order led by Rey, or Rey destroys Kylo Ren.

it seems to me that they are writing as they go and the direction is somewhat left to the director. If they like your direction, you can stay. If they don't, you get shown the door. It's like two people writing a story together, alternating author's a chapter at a time. Each new chapter has to live with and deal with the direction and decisions of the last chapter's author. There can be no redemption for Kylo Ren.
Kylo will be redeemed at the end.
There are more then 20 fighters. Remember there are many in the outer Rim [Reply]
Hated it. I am pretty sure that Disney pays off film critics cause this was a steaming pile of crap imo .
Spoiler!
Really really feel bad for Mark Hamill . He had to lose a good amount of weight and got in better shape for that?! I was expecting him to fight a bunch more in this. Really stupid.
Also , Del Toro did next to nothing in this . God damn it.
and last but not least , that had to be the cheesiest Star Wars ending I've ever come across.:-)

4/10
Yeah expected way more with Luke and the light saber. He did do the Matrux move. Though. [Reply]
Having a 60-year old man's character doing a bunch of Jedi flips and bullshit on camera would have been goofy and not in the spirit of the character. [Reply]
oh and that nerdy asian actress was flat out horrible. (already forgot her character's name , she was that forgettable and stole screen time away from Poe) [Reply]

I'm curious about how much of the First Order's fleet is actually left at this point. The Raddus' jump didn't just take out The Supremacy, it took out a bunch of the smaller Star Destroyers, too.
I'm not so sure the Resistance and the FO aren't going to be on nearly equal ground in Episode 9. [Reply]
