Last Friday I had TWO 9 oz Filet Mignons at Outback Steakhouse for lunch along with asparagus, baked potato. Started with a dirty Tito's martini, Seared Ahi Tuna appetizer.
The filet's were far bigger than 9 oz, probably about 12-15 ounces each.
I was BLOWN AWAY at how incredible they were. Everything was perfect-level of doneness, flavoring on outside, tenderness, moisture level.
They were the 2nd greatest filets I ever had, only surpassed by a 22 oz colossal perfection from the Old Homestead Steak House in the Borgata in Atlantic City, a Top 3 meal of my life. [Reply]

I have had a very good steak at Outback, many years ago. I have also had some dreadful meals there. It really depends on the kitchen, just like many restaurants.
