Losing to LSU didn't take anything off the table. And I mean NOTHING. Win out, beat UGA, go the the SEC championship game, win that and you're in the Title game.
Is there even a 5% chance of that happening? Nah - but beat LSU or not, none of that is very likely. And the odds of that didn't change appreciably by losing to LSU.
Now if we somehow manage to beat UGA but lose to, I dunno, Florida - You have a point.
Don't try to reason with him. He's way more stubborn about this team than even I am or pretty much anyone else that frequents this thread. [Reply]
That LSU game certainly had the potential to set the program back if they responded poorly. Instead they responded by going into a ranked Kentucky and playing their best game overall to date. Thumbs up to Drinkwitz. [Reply]

Brock Bowers had ankle surgery today. Probably doesn’t make beating UGA any more likely, but it sure doesn’t hurt. Our defense would have to improve by many orders of magnitude, obviously. [Reply]

Didn't a worse Mizzou team almost beat the eventual National Champions last year? [Reply]

It's in Athens.
The odds are pretty high we get plunger raped.
But hey - they aren't 100%.
Mizzou has UT and Florida at home - if they're legit, they should win those game. They have SC at home but they're just better than Carolina. And they have Arkansas on the road but again, I just think Mizzou is flat better than Arky though KJ Jefferson can be a handful.
Again - everything is still on the table. In mid-October. And if Mizzou just takes care of business this week it'll all still be there waiting for us into November. [Reply]

Last time we played in Athens I went with a UGA faculty. It’s overrated. They do this lighter thing where everyone flips their white trash lighter on. Of course Georgia fans smoke, fucking rednecks. Beyond that it’s not exceptionally loud.
I’ve been to ol miss, lsu, tennesse, Vanderbilt and Kentucky. Georgia ranks at or near the bottom of game day experiences. Athens has signs about the “war of northern aggression” on campus lol. [Reply]

That jsut in the sec. Stillwater, Norman, Manhattan, Lawrence, Ames, all rank FAR below Vanderbilt.
Austin is badass. Never been to college station. Never when to Waco, didn’t want to get raped. Dallas/Fort Worth fucking sucks as college towns. [Reply]

Don't care for the UGA fanbase, but their stadium is gorgeous. Good tailgating atmosphere.
I'd rank atmosphere in the stadiums as the following of 3 big stadiums I've been to in the SEC(excluding Mizzou and Kentucky because they don't compare even if they can be good gameday atmospheres).
1. Tennessee
2. Georgia
3. Alabama
In terms of amenities:
1. Alabama
2. Georgia
3. Tennessee
Neyland's awesome to go to but it's cramped and older. Their bathroom situation is probably better than Georgia's (Georgia had porta potties different parts of the concourse instead of actual restrooms). BDS is much nicer, especially with the recent renovations. [Reply]
***** WR Ryan Wingo is now planning to announce his commitment next Wednesday, Oct 25.
It's been thought for several months that if he announces early, it is a good sign for Mizzou. Recent "recruiting analyst" activity has been leaning to Mizzou as well. Even human thumb/Texas homer Geoff Ketchum has changed his prediction to Mizzou in recent weeks.
Wingo - yes, he's the younger brother of Ronnie and Raymond Wingo, the cousin of noted traitor Mekhi - is more of a traditional X type prospect. 6-2, 200, good deep speed. Less wiggle than Burden. He could be an impactful player as a freshman just running deep routes against single coverage. Put him on the field with Burden in the slot and Johnson stretching the field on the opposite side of the formation, and that's a tough group to defend. [Reply]
Rumor is that he's supposed to be at homecoming this weekend.
So yeah, one would think that an announcement next week can only be a good thing for Mizzou.
I mean you mention him coming in and contributing next season but lord that WR room will be PACKED. Burden, Cooper, Manning, Johnson. That's without considering Ja'Marion Wayne (who i think they moved to WR) and Mekhi Miller. Or even Blood and Deloach who were more highly rated than Johnson coming in.
Gotta figure a few of them transfer out but man that's a stacked group. [Reply]

I'd think Wingo would be a package guy as a freshman. And Wease has a COVID year he could use. [Reply]

I wondered about that. Man I hope we can talk him into staying. He's just been a perfect addition to the room. Came in here and immediately knew how to play the position and has been massive.
With nautral development The 'big 4' this year alone would be among the best WR groups in the country next season. Add further contributions from Manning to that mix and anything Wingo gives you and good lord, we'd have the best WR corps this program's ever seen. And that's if we don't already.
It's loaded to the gills.
Get me a fast RB and a more stout OL and I'm not sure there's a ceiling for Mizzou's offense at that point. Even Norfleet is looking like a ballplayer. [Reply]
