I grew up eating turkeys dad shot for Thanksgiving, and yes, they were great. You do have to know how to cook them properly, however, or they end up being too dry.

Yep. Wild turkey is pretty lean so you have to keep it moist. Shoving a couple pounds of butter inside the skin works well. [Reply]

That was my stepmom's department, but shoving a couple of pounds of butter in something sounds like she'd do. She was the master of cooking delicious food that was absolutely horrible for you. But dad wouldn't have wanted it any other way. [Reply]
