$15 million per is the starting point.
I think Denver likes where they are at the QB position. They might be content to let Siemian, Lynch, and Kelly battle it out in training camp next year.
Things will be more clear once the season is over though. Denver will definitely have options if they want to address the QB position next year. Hopefully the Luck rumors are true and Elway trades Siemian, Lynch, and a couple picks for him. :-) [Reply]

Technically, Trevor is under contract through 2018... if he plays like he did last week and continues to be consistent and improves, maybe they give him an extension early. And, if that's the case - he will have earned it.
If not, then yeah - they're in a bidding war for whichever name the can go find. But, they're not at that point.
It's not realistic to think Trevor will account for 3 TDs a game, but if he starts all the games and they have a record above .500 and his stats are in the high 3k passing yards with 25 TDs and 12 INTs... that's pretty solid and on par with what he would have had in 2016 had he started all 16 games.

I've never said it wasn't a weird advantage they seem to get... do I think it's because the league loves Denver or they're somehow doing something nefarious to get those games early? No. I think it's equally a disadvantage considering ideally, it would be more advantageous to have a slew of home games late in the season in that altitude when it's cold and snowing.
So, yeah... maybe they get out to a better start with the home games early, but it catches up to them. I'd much rather have balance with the home and away. But, many here act as if that won't catch up to them if they're truly a bad team. [Reply]

Luck isn't going to be traded. That was put to bed.
It would be incredibly stupid to not extend Semen next spring if they like him, which it looks like they will. Nobody ever waits for the QB's deal to end before extending them unless they want to place the franchise tag on them, which would be even more $$.
Denver is about to have to pay at least $15 million for Semen or Cousins. I don't see any way they go back to Brock. Semen is far better.
They are going to be up against the cap soon unless they get rid of big cap guys like Talib. [Reply]

You do realize you have a bottom 5 QB stable right? [Reply]

Trade Luck? That won't happen when they will bring in his buddy from Stanford to be the HC. Now Bree's or Cousins is possible for anyone of money. [Reply]

Disregard the fact that Trevor threw more TDs on the road than at home in 2016. (played exactly 7 home and 7 away)
Broncos were 4-4 on the road last year... 1-1 with Lynch. Since Manning, they are 10-7 overall with Trevor carrying a 9-6 record.
Trevor's losses:
@ SD 13-21
@ OAK 20-30
vs KC 27-30 (doink)
@ TEN 10-13
vs NEP 3-16
@ KC 10-30 (destroyed)
Lost 3 of 4 on the road in the division... which is not suprising, I said they'd likely split the home games and they failed at doing that only with KC and the doink FG.
Late in the season, they couldn't pass protect or run the ball and he was playing hurt. No excuses, at all. They improve in those areas and there's lots of room for improvement and optimism. [Reply]
Please sign Semen to an extension...that would be awesome! It's not going happen though...Horseface is only keeping him around because Lynch busted and he's cheap. Perennial 3rd/4th place finishes arent going to cut it with Carr/Mahomes playing in the division. He's a placeholder QB...nothing more.
Muleteeth is going to make a play for a veteran QB next season.
Once Talib leaves next year that defense is going to struggle...they already almost blew the game the 4th. [Reply]

Bold is Quoted for Truth. Siemian is a stud, great find by John in the 7th round.
They will address Talib but not because of cap hell. Their cap is fine. They might try to lock Trevor up long term but don't need to do that until the offseason and if they do so then any QB search is over, outside of drafting development guys.
The kid took a huge step this last week, I expect great things as the season goes on and he learns his 2nd system in the last 2 years. [Reply]
That pass to DT was impressive, just flicked it out there with a rush OLB coming at him and put it in a perfect spot. His accuracy down field is amazing. [Reply]
