Well to be honest, he's story isn't great. He makes less than I do, but is quite a bit older (near 50) and has been saving a long time for a car like this. Divorced, has a house that he rents out to pay that mortgage but lives with his mother to save the money needed for this car. Doesn't drink and is super religious. Very nice guy but has a pretty boring life. [Reply]
Got my new monster stage 3 clutch in, and have a little money set aside.. looking to do a full founders suspension rear setup with LCA relocation brackets, subframe connectors, LCAs, and panhard bar. Really need springs, shocks, and torque arm to complete the basic setup. Anyone want to donate to the 'spinnin aint winnin' fund? [Reply]

I have a buddy I ride motorcycles with; he's 39, makes about 70k/yr and lives at home with his mom. he just rat-holes money, but has all sorts of bad ass toys. (naturally)
all of us have to bite our lip as best we can when i'll say something like "Man, I really want a HD Street Glide. One day....*sigh*" and he says shit like "fuck it man...just get one. it's worth it".
and we all sit there thinking the same thing.......some of us have rent due mother fucker. lol. He has a killer Chevy Silverado, an CVO Stree Glide, and just bought some kick ass pro-touring looking old Chevy C-10.
I don't even think he kicks in any money to his mom for expenses. and I don't think she cares. Rough life. [Reply]

The rent thing always gets me. My wife is always like, "so and so can afford to do this and that", and im like, "well, so and so lives in a fucking studio apt in the ghetto and pays $300 a month. We can have a lot of extra money too if you want to live in a closet". [Reply]

yep. finally got my wife to realize this after 10 years of marriage. lol.
the guy I mentioned is just shitting money. always dressed nice as hell (no homo), has a killer inventory of guns/rifles, motorcycle, dirtbikes, etc.
strange though....never had a serious girlfriend *sarcasm*. any chick who wanted to get serious with him, realized he wasn't moving out any time soon, if ever.
at one point he had a Street Glide and a Night Train, and wanted to get ride of the NT; ended up selling it for like $8k; only had like 10kmiles. wish I woudl've jumped all over that at the time. [Reply]

Well this guy doesn't have other toys. He's a super nice guy too. Really happy he waited years to get what he really wanted. I'd hangout with him. But he sounds similar otherwise. Has lived with his mom for like 10 years saving money even though she's in great health and doesn't need him there. Hasn't really been on a date that I know of in the few years I've worked there. Says he never had a drop of alcohol EVER.
And some things are just more important for some people. I prefer a little more house than a few toys, and our solitude away from others. You couldn't pay me to live in an apartment again or even sharing walls with someone in a condo.
I might get to see his "new" car tomorrow at work. [Reply]

Yeah when we bought on the water down here, I continued to drive my 120K+ miles mustang because the house was more important. As my income has grown, now I got the car. Cars like ours are a luxury item.Having a wife/GF, family nice house is way more important, at least to me. But it works for him so good for him. [Reply]

He's about the nicest guy you'll ever met. My wife saw the car a few nights ago and asked if I was jealous. And I am absolutely not. I'd love to have it and it's way nicer than my car but something that expensive isn't in the cards for us and that's totally ok. I'm glad when someone gets something they truly appreciate. And he's paying mostly cash, so good on him, especially compared to most people getting a car like that taking out a huge loan! [Reply]
