I know there are enough of us to participate in this thread, even when our seasons inevitably go to shit.
KSU vs Western Illinois today, tip-off at 3:00 pm.
One thing I noticed near the end of the game on Friday night - we had 5 true freshman on the court, and still played sound basketball. None of them were scrub walk-ons either. While I don't think we will make a serious run at anything this year, the foundation is being laid for a solid program in the future. [Reply]

They'll just bring up the uk game. I love the guy and hope he continues to play the way that he did today for the rest of the year, but when he's not playing well and still trying to carry the offense, it's really frustrating.
I don't think we'll be better next year because he's a bad player, I think we'll be better because he's such an emotional/streaky player, which at times (today, Tuesday) really gives the team a lift and at other times (last week vs. uk) hurts the team.
I love the enthusiasm, hustle and desire from Denis and don't think there's many players in the country that have more of a will to win than he does. But it's not always to the benefit of the team. Times when he hurts the team more often than not are when you get the people on here complaining and bitching about him (yeah, I've been that guy before).
At the end of the day... I got your back, Denis. EMAW 4 life. [Reply]
The 1st half was bizarre. We were sitting right behind the KSU bench about 12 rows up. I have never seen Frank that calm, that emotionless in a Conf game. For whatever reason, the team just didn't look like they were very interested in this game - and the 1st half score reflected that. The 2nd half was a completely different story. When they came out of the Locker Room, they were fired up, and the action on the defensive side of the ball was awesome. Again, Frank was pretty much in his seat most of the 2nd half, but the team had a different attitude. There must have been a fairly "inspirational speech" given to the players:-)
I'm not a big fan of Hilton Coliseum, but it amazing the support their fans give this team. That place can get damn loud. At any rate, we had a good time, and were very happy just to come away with a win. I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't as much purple in the crowd as we had in Lincoln.
Clemente was having a great time on the floor. Say what you want about the kid, but he's the player this team likes to rally around. The other players feed off his emotion and play. Not to mention, he's a lot of fun to watch. He'll be greatly missed next season.
That's my last road game of the year until the B12 Tourny. I had planned to go to Norman, but that isn't going to work out. 19-4 feels damn good. :-) [Reply]
