Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.
Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?
Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware? [Reply]

Im pretty sure that after WW2 they wanted to share common ammunition capabilities with allied countries which is why they switched to the 762 Nato (308win) when they designed the M14 [Reply]

Dont get me wrong, Id keep a mini 14 if I had one, but I wouldn't buy it over other options.
That's my thinking. And if there is ever a real SHTF scenario, you're FAR more likely to find a trashed AR laying around that you can salvage parts from - trigger spring, etc. [Reply]
Gotta question for the AR aficionados here at the Planet. I've got an opportunity to buy a new in the box DPMS Oracle in 308 from a buddy for $550. Good deal? Cheapest I've found so far are in the $750 range. Pros and cons for this particular AR? I realize it's a very basic entry level AR 10. I don't have a particular use for it outside of some target shooting. Myself I think it's not a bad deal and my buddy could use the bucks. Thanks in advance for any info you can pass along! [Reply]

AR10? Yeah, that's a good deal. Especially considering the current political climate. [Reply]

Jump on that deal, seriously. Also, be prepared to dig a little deep for a scope for that thing. [Reply]

When I joined the Army - the M14 was the standard rifle - in 7.62. I really don't know when it was switched (the caliber) but through Basic, AIT and Viet Nam - until we transitioned to the M16 it was definitely a 7.62 round. [Reply]

Yes it's a GREAT deal! My AR-10 is a DPMS rifle. I don't really care for the AR-15 5.56 DPMS (I own a Colt) but the AR-10 is an absolute tack driver. Great Rifle that "usually" goes in the neighborhood of $900 and up. There is NOTHING wrong with this rifle. [Reply]

That, or you can wait for the PA-10 308s that Palmetto State Armory sells to come back in stock.
For $700, SS free-float barrel with flattop, Magpul stock, and molded grip. (Optics, rail, and M&P Shield not included.) [Reply]
Thanks guys. Much appreciated for the info. Texted buddy little bit ago and let him know I'll swing by with the cash :-) It looks like it will be a hoot to shoot. [Reply]
