Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! [Reply]

It's not bad to take those little throws to Hunt and Hill and such. Let them take those screens and 5 yard hitches and run.
I think this is one area where playing behind Smith will help him as he saw that there are patient ways to win and going 5-10 yards at a time is okay if the defense is giving them away. But I also think Mahomes is smart enough to watch the film of those games and see that there were still opportunities to go deeper and I know Reid will make sure he sees them as well and that he will encourage him to take them. You heard it here first.
I agree and am honestly not worried. Good defenses no longer consistently beat good offenses. In fact the opposite seems to ring true. The Jags were like +5 on the turnover ratio against Pittsburgh in the playoffs last year and gave up 42 points. Minnesota gave up 29 points to Green Bay last week. The Chargers have a pretty good defense and we torched them. Those top defense do shut down bad or average offenses but that’s not what the Chiefs are and I believe we will still score plenty of points and certainly enough to win.
A predict the excuses before each game discussion from the other teams or media would certainly be fun though. Lots of the ones discussed before the Pittsburgh game came true. [Reply]
The most ridiculous thing that may be coming if Mahomes only has an okay game with like 300 yards, 2 TDs and 2 picks will be that the same people that said let’s give it more time to decide he’s great, will immediately use that one game to say they were right and that he wasn’t great or won’t be the next great QB. But I seriously question if he will have any bad games at all. The offense is just too good. [Reply]

That's like Mahomes lining up at Tech with Saquon Barkley, John Ross, Jake Butt and Dede Westbrook.
Also I just noticed Mahomes led all of college football in total yards in 2016. No shit? :-)
not disagreeing with you at all regarding talent level. He's in a perfect situation. [Reply]
We are witnessing what happens when an all time great offensive mind gets a QB with an elite skill set and surrounds him with elite talent and a defense (and NFL rules) that forces them to be on attack every single possession.
Mahomes may end up breaking every single season passing record this year if this team stays healthy. I think my high end projection is going to be the floor which was something like 4200 yards, 40 TDs and 14 INTs. [Reply]

That's exactly right. It's a long season and we will see how it goes, but I'm pretty confident he can get to 40+ TD and stay well below 20 INT. [Reply]

If everyone stays healthy (which takes a lot of luck - especially with Watkins) I agree records are very likely to fall. This is like you have a young Aaron Rodgers with no film on him, plus literally one of the greatest casts of offensive weapons ever assembled and one of the best offensive coaches of all time.

I also love how PIT and LA defenses were never "that" great, not like a lot people didn't pick them to win their division or anything
I drafted the SD defense in fantasy because they were projected to be one of the better defenses in the league. I guess Bosa is their whole defense and he was out so it doesn't count. [Reply]

Injury excuse only counts for other teams. [Reply]
