I don't mean to say I'm an expert but my Hammy's are sore from installing those stupid year round Holliday lights for the wife yesterday. And I tore my ACL once. I'm sore but good to go now. WBF. [Reply]

I still recall the 2022 TNF game at Arrowhead when they did the same shit, killing the entire front. That game made me question if we would be able to have a really good offense that year. Thankfully it was more of an outlier.
Every team we play is taking advantage of our O line. You think this week will be any different? Or the week after? Every week it’s a problem keeping Mahomes off the turf. [Reply]

Wasn’t Kareem Hunt also on the “couch” earlier this year? He seems to have been a pretty good pickup this team. [Reply]

Side note.
Wtf.do we.not do stunts on defense.
You figured we would do something different than straight rush. [Reply]

Every team is taking advantage of our LT.
The Chargers, in both games this year, have done the best job disrupting the interior too. [Reply]

Every team is taking advantage of Andy Reid as well. He HAS to start running the ball again or he’s gonna get Mahomes hurt.
We only had 16 runs until the last drive to ice the game. This after only running the ball 14 times and throwing 46 (!!!) last week. This cannot happen anymore. It just can’t. Is Andy intentionally trying to get Patrick hurt?
Guys a major problem is the DL know we won’t run the ball. It’s the same as having a lead. They pin their ears back and don’t care if we get a successful run here or there.
Andy is making life harder for the OL and Mahomes. He needs to run the freakin ball more and utiiize play action off of it. [Reply]

I agree they should have run the ball more last night. They actually had some success. Prior to that, though? The running game has been bad for weeks. No push. Getting 2 yards a carry on every attempt. It would be foolish to run the ball more when it's constantly putting us in 3rd and long.
That being said, they actually looked better last night. So hopefully the play calling will evolve. [Reply]
I agree, and hey again that's something that they flipped the switch with last year.
We couldn't hardly gain 2 yards a pop on Christmas vs. the Raiders, then in the playoffs it was back to being a nice balance where Pacheco was doing a nice job.
Here's hoping we see the same. IDK how Andy could watch last night and the hits Patrick took and not come away thinking that it cannot be their identity for another game this year. You can't keep passing at this clip. [Reply]
Hate to say it guys but this team needs an ass whooping. A straight up ass whipping.
They didn’t truly acknowledge their issues last year until the Raiders forced them too on X mas and this feels the same this year.
Wouldn’t surprise me if the Steelers beat us badly on X Mas day tbh. They desperately need the wake up call they got from the Raiders right now. [Reply]

The issue with the run game is that we're getting less and less effective at it because teams AREN'T sitting in 2-high against us anymore.
A lot of these plays are based on box counts and Mahomes has a check at the line. He's getting a lot more loaded boxes than he used to and so we're passing the football out of it.
But everything is sideways so A) It's not terribly effective and B) Its not forcing those safeties BACK out of the box.
And as noted in another thread, when you only get 8-10 drives in a given game because your defense can't force quick stops or turnovers (and your offense isn't explosive) every single drive counts. So you can't dedicate 2-3 drives to running the ball ineffectively in order to try to keep defenses honest.
It's really not as simple as "Run the ball, Andy!" because we've had a snowball of things offensively (and really, defensively) that make that really inefficient for us and right now we can't afford offensive inefficiency.
We'll absolutely run the ball when it's there. We did most of the season. Andy didn't just decide "Eh, fuck it, I wanna pass..." -- teams adjusted to close the run lanes and so we're trying to find a new adjustment back. [Reply]
