Year Two of the Matt Quatraro tenure. Time to take a step up this year. Active in free agency and trades this offseason. A new look pitching rotation and bullpen. Will the young players take the leap up offensively? Bobby Witt extension? New stadium? Will Vinny recover from injury? Salvy taking aim at the Royals record book? Will Cole Ragans turn into the best Royals starting pitcher since Greinke 1.0?

Caglione is the guy I figured would be the pick all last year when we were looking at #2 overall. Best power bat the Royals have drafted since maybe Bo Jackson. [Reply]

There's a lot of talk about tanking and how to fix it. This, according to sources, was part of the MLBPA's proposal today -- similar to what it has proposed in the past. The league's counter has been simple: the top four picks are subject to a lottery with no other adjustments. pic.twitter.com/Ikz41Wk36h
Jesus, MLB and the MLBPA are truly fucked. Manfred is a huge piece of shit. Nothing will dissuade me on that. Manfred has no place in MLB and his “leadership” might actually be worse than Milwaukee’s favorite car salesman, Bud Selig.
There’s a lot of things MLB can do to make this game more popular, more world wide, but they consistently fail, yet the money is always there. MLB consistently misses opportunities to make opportunities. It’s embarrassing. [Reply]

So he's a two way player? Probably a positional player but could be a pitcher as well? If so I love it because it's two players in one. If he fails at one he may be good at the other. [Reply]

Also with noting that the Nationals took Caleb Lomavita with the compensatory pick they got from the Royals for Hunter Harvey. He's a catcher from Cal. [Reply]

Lomavita is an athlete who has so much room to grow. Baseball America had him No. 17 on its board. [Reply]
