Nzoner's Game Room>We owe Wanya Morris an apology
RunKC 11:58 AM 11-11-2024
Didn’t realize just how bad it could be without him and boy was it bad.

Say what you want but the kid is a functional LT that is getting better. It’s hard finding average LT’s but I’d say he’s pretty damn close to average and that’s okay.

He’s the same caliber as Donovan Smith to me but he’s young and not falling apart.

Say what you want guys….getting a functional starting LT that is steady and not a bust at the end of rd 3 is an A+ draft pick.

Believe the hit rate in rd 3 is roughly 15% so getting this type of value is a big value to us.

It's still the draft, it's always a gamble.

I sincerely believe we're freaking out about it way more than normal because of the 3-peat possibility. We're expecting all the rookies to be starters by mid-season. It's a little unrealistic.
The only realistic chance the Chiefs have of getting that long-term stability at the position that they had with Fisher is to keep taking guys like Kingsley and hope they work. As long as Pat's here they won't be picking high enough to get a blue chipper.

Yup. Kingsley has all the measurables to be a high pick. He dropped into late in the second round for a reason. He has the potential, but expecting him to step in immediately is wishful thinking. Teams that draft where KC does don’t land on an elite LT. They have to draft “potential” guys and hope they can develop them.

I would take average at this point.

So trade up. Fuck the reclamation and developmental projects. What is this, the third season since Super Bowl 54 that Mahomes is going to have to gut out a lower leg injury down the stretch?

Oh right, that worthless jackass Cam Erving hurt him too. So that's 4 times in 7 seasons starting he's had to fight through this nonsense.

That's a very costly proposition, though. Trading up that high sounds easy but it just isn't.

No shit it isn't. It's likely going to cost multiple 1sts and day two picks. But it's worth the investment to keep Mahomes healthy.

This was my thought too. If it's a pro bowl quality left tackle who cares if it's two firsts and a 3rd whatever? That means Pat is protected properly for the next decade.

Or I mean we could draft another Skyy, Kingsley, FAU....

Or you could spend all that draft capital and still not have a LT. It's not a sure thing. I'm not saying don't do it, I'm just saying be prepared.

Might as well line up LT #2 at TE every damn snap in those games. We'd probably literally be more effective that way.

Can't Niang give us more than Kingsley? I mean a still-damp paper mache traffic cone could right?

By those numbers that is marked improvement. That’s almost a 20% improvement YoY. If you extrapolate out his first 6 games to a 17 game season, that would be 65 total pressures. If you look extrapolate his last 6 games out to a 17 game season, it is 53 pressures.

He is getting better, but still has a lot of improvement to make.

65 pressures is literal worst in the league. 53 pressures is bottom 5 OT caliber play. He's still big stinky poo poo

He’s a second year player who has shown a measurable improvement year over year. I’m so glad none of you dumb fucks have Bart Vorch’s job. Trading multiple firsts to trade up to grab a LT is stupid and not how you continue building a dynastic roster.

Sure, it's how you have Mahomes constantly hobbling over the finish line playing heroics and potentially shortening his window of elite play.
