Only "one" disaster "one" that has them winning ZERO Superbowls instead of a minimum of the THREE by allowing us to draft the greatest QB talent in league history. So...ok [Reply]

The 49ers had no QBs at all on the roster at the time.
I can kind of forgive them if they had a veteran game manager in place. I can also forgive them if they already had a young QB on the roster they were intrigued by at wanted to give him a chance. But they had none of that at all.
Solomon Thomas wasn't this amazeballs prospect, either. He was just a step above Tyson Jackson. To me when you're completely QB-less, you've got the high draft pick, and the non-QB you're selecting is debatable as a top 15 pick in many other draft classes, you're an arrogant pile of crap.
And I'm not even a giant Purdy hater. I've seen far worse QBs win Super Bowls, certainly. But pointing to him as a case for Lynch/Rat Jr knowing what they're doing at the QB position is like pointing to a homeless guy who just won the Powerball and saying, "Boy, that guy sure knows all about making money!"
I thought they were pretty much the same person/player. [Reply]
Belichick's record with selecting QBs is incredible. To be able to pick out Tom Brady in the 6th round! That more than makes up for any and all other QB missteps he may have had! [Reply]

He's right. Don't touch Lamar Jackson with a ten foot pole, all he's there to do is to hype the season ticket holders into spending their money. At least with Purdy you know that there will be playoff success because he runs the system like you draw it up instead of just scramble drill and we'll hope something great happens. [Reply]

Which Manning brother would you rather have as your QB? [Reply]
But Eli in the playoffs. He was clutch. Just like Mahomes, but possibly even better as he did not miss once if I recall correctly. Certainly not on his 2 Super Bowl runs. The two Super Bowls Eli won probably have two of the most amazing throws and catches in NFL history.
I remember thinking in the second confrontation with Brady that “Eli’s coming “and Brady doesn’t have a chance because Eli will just get it done. And that’s the way it turned out. [Reply]

It's all about Super Bowl and playoff wins my friend. For all his earned accolades, I'd take the brother who could beat Tom Brady during his prime when it mattered most. But I will give it to you, Eli didn't have to go against Tom in the same conference. [Reply]
