I might well go edge in 1 and circle back and grab a Collins in round 2.
The one thing is that as far as DT goes, I'm looking more for a NT type than a 3 tech type. I'm thinking complementary player to Jones as opposed to another Jones type. Grant, Tyleik Williams in 1 or Collins in round 2. [Reply]
Walter Nolen and Mike Green both have character flags that need to be vetted. I don't know the extent of it. With Nolen, you have a guy that might struggle as a 1-tech. He's a guy that would replace Jones well but it might not be until he's halfway through his rookie deal before he starts seeing significant playing time. Green fits okay with what we've had at RDE at times but his arm length and hand size are small to go with an already rather slight frame.
We all know what Spags does with undersized DEs like Donovan Ezeiruaku.. nothing... even if he might be the best player in the list.
I like Kenneth Grant but there are a handful of guys just like him in this draft. Do I want to push it in round 1 over an edge?
Mykel Williams has all the traits you want in a dominant edge, but the production lacks behind those traits. I know he played hurt this past year, so that's a factor.
Honestly, I think I'd bet on the traits and go with Williams. [Reply]

Was thinking exactly the same re Ezeiruaku. I REALLY want us to get some speed at DE but I'm completely resigned to Spags having zero interest
If I have one gripe with Spags it's the preference above all else, it seems, for versatility on the DL. Even FAU seemed to be used this way. I get the value of DEs that can bounce inside, but it's like everyone has to be asked to do this. For the love of God can we just get a couple of specialists. Give me a true run-stuffing NT and a light, speedy DE. There's space on the roster.
I'd honestly rather a guy like Josaiah Stewart with one of our 2nd or 3rd picks. Definitely a limited prospect, but he does threaten with speed and holds up well against the run at his size. You can't use him at DT but so what. I'd much rather a guy who is really could at one thing we don't have, than another Omenihu
Also, agree with others going for Green then looking at someone like Collins R2. [Reply]
Well, with the Worthy news, I feel it's safe to say that receiver might be the pick in the first round now. Good thing this is a deep class for defensive line. [Reply]
