Uh...naw, man. That's not how it went. That dude was just REALLY gay and very much enjoying the trappings of fame. Stories of his debauchery during that era would make David Bowie blush.
But by the movie's telling, he was a shy, confused guy who just loved everyone...
And again - fine. I get that the story you wanted to tell was mostly the music. But it's pretty odd to essentially turn a story about Queen into a Mercury centered vehicle and then essentially skip the elements that really defined him as a person for a decade.
Exactly. The thing is, that stuff was part of Freddie's personal life. With Zep, the controversy is about the origins of their early music. They won't touch it with a ten foot pile but it's an absolutely CRITICAL piece of their early history.
And that's not even to mean I don't like Led Zeppelin. I love Ozzy but I can also acknowledge what he did to Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake was low and that he almost destroyed Jake E. Lee's life.

Oh...that's a good point I hadn't considered W/R/T Zeppelin.
They have been fighting those plagiarizing accusations for decades. And some of 'em are pretty damn convincing.
Yeah - they aren't gonna get near any of that.

You just don't fuck with songwriting credits. That's like the dirtiest thing you can do in music.
