Nzoner's Game Room>2023 chiefs offense vs 2024
Oh Snap 08:00 PM Today
So everyone on social media seems to think we suck and are barely scraping by...thanks ti the refs. But if you look at the stats thru the first 11 weeks, and compare them to last year's, we are actually looking pretty decent.

2023 offensive points thru 11 games were 256pts.

2024 offensive points thru 11 games is 270.

Mahomes is 6th in touchdown passes, tied with Josh Allen and Jordan love.

Mahomes is 3rd in completion percentage and 9th in total passing yards. Not bad for losing your #1 &#2 receivers early in the season for the rest of the year.

Defense has had issues getting sacks. We're also allowing more pts than we did. This time last year. From 181 to 218 pts allowed. We do miss sneed.

Tackles are an issue, but we are 10-1 and in sole control of the #1 seed. LETS FUCKING GO

We're a much better team in every respect than last year at the same point in time, which makes all the bitching and whining all the more puzzling.

Essentially. This team was never going to lack deficiencies at all. It’s the nature of the game. In areas that needed addressing in season they did just that. They looked bad during the regular season for a bunch of games.

Mahomes has been elite in his last 5 games. 103.5 QB rating.

We're coming for the fucking ring. This team is ACCELERATING.

Our pass rush and secondary are much better this year than last?

I don't think so.

Our defense is worse than last year but still good enough. Our offense is better and will improve with reinforcements arriving.

I like where our offense will be by January more than last year. No doubt. I also feel less comfortable with where our defense will be at that point in the season.

The funny thing is the vibe around here on the defense at the ~11 week mark last season wasn't great by any means... I felt pretty damn good about things after the Eagles game (and then we found out every other defense had figured them out, too), and then they give up a couple early touchdowns to the Raiders and then the shitty Packers game.

This game was basically that Packers game in terms of CP meltdown brought to us by the defense.

(and this post in no way is comparing the issues of last year with this year or saying "they'll be fine just like last year", or comfort level between seasons, etc;... just chuckling to myself on the fickle nature of this place evaluating what really ended up being a stellar defense last season)

The defense is a lot more vulnerable this year. Really hope adding Pacheco, Humphries, and Hollywood can take the offense to a different level. They’re probably gonna need it for Playoff shootouts.
