As a 4th or 5th receiver? Agreed, probably pretty hard.

Maybe after week 1? At that point his contract wouldn't be guaranteed.

Juju WAS better than Watson. Now, who knows? He isn't going to start ahead of
Browm ,Rice or Worthy and he doesn't play special teams. That's a waste of a spot.

He doesn't ST.

And packing declining vets on the back end of a roster instead of young developmental ones is shit bad teams do.
Especially not in this iteration of the offense.

The Chiefs are clearly looking to open things up a bit; use more 11 personnel and spread the field a little more.

They simply ran a way different offense around JJSS. And in that setup they had a 2 years younger Kelce doing more WR things. Now they're trying to ask their WRs to do WR things and Kelce do more of the possession stuff to keep him fresh.

They're clearly getting away from what they did in 2022 that allowed JJSS to be successful here. And to whatever extent they would've used him underneath and for YAC stuff like they did in 2022, Rice has taken over that role.

The team has moved on.

The fans should as well.

Watson can do more in this offense as currently contemplated than JuJu can.

If you want to put the guy on the PS to hang around in the event that Rice gets hurt - fine. Whatever.

But that's all he is. He's a strict backup for Rice. He doesn't serve any other function here. He doesn't complement anybody else in this WR room or on this roster.

Meanwhile everyone else that's going to make the team will. They can serve a purpose WITH Rice and Kelce on the field.

In order for JJSS to be valuable, both of those guys have to be hurt.

If you were talking about the Olympics then I'd agree. But Juju is the better WR and it's not close. Watson has never had a 70 plus yard game in his entire nfl career despite playing with Brady and Mahomes. He's the very definition of a jag.

He can rotate with Rice and be effective imo. His last game for the Pats he got 90 plus yards with a terrible QB. Watson has played with Brady and Pat and hasn't had a 70 yard game. Juju is better.

Furthermore players are released for different reasons. Odell Beckham was also released. Bottom line is Juju knows our system and was a key part of us winning a ring just two years ago. He's is now 27 years old and is better than most of the wideouts in our receiver room so IF HE PASSES A MEDICAL why wouldn't we sign him on a vet min? I honestly can't fathom why you hate Juju so much. It's plain weird imo.

Lol, no proof. Except his knees were an issue TWO YEARS AGO. And he was having some kind of issue last season as well. Missed a half dozen or so games, no? And there's a well-documented trail of his knee issues over his career. You saying his knees are healed now?

And why are you bringing up OBJ? Are you just going to bring up any player that got released ever in the history of the NFL? Maybe you should do that now, instead of making us wait for each one separately. Save all of us some time.

And this isn't about whether I like JJSS or not. I don't really care. The question should be "why are you so high on him?"

The issue should be why NE would release a WR that exactly fits their needs (assuming his knees have miraculously healed as you say), that they can easily afford, and should be worth his weight in gold, if he's as good-to-go as you say.

I mean, this is NFL roster-building 101; rookie QB needs security blanket, NE had one in JJSS in-house for cheap, but chose to throw him away?

But you can't give me a good reason as to why NE would throw away what they desperately need in 2024. You're just cheerleading for JuJu, using his performance in a single game at the end of last season as 'evidence' when they were playing for absolutely nothing.

If you can produce a single reason why NE would throw away what they actually needed, besides his historical knee issues, he might be interesting.

Otherwise, Occam's Razor applies.

People forgetting the Eagles game where Watson was featured and received over 10+ targets?

Disaster.

I'll take one legged JuJu over that if we need to push someone into the lineup for more reps.

Hard to dislike Juju

JuJu Smith-Schuster says Hollywood Brown is a "special dude" and he's happy they're both in KC. He and Brown texted after Hollywood signed with KC and JuJu told him he was coming to a special team. pic.twitter.com/83iEuCgOL8
