Hammock Parties 02:54 PM 07-26-2019
So much fail in that franchise they need an official thread like the Donkeys.

Let's get it going.

Raiders WR Antonio Brown has been placed on the non-football injury list to begin camp, per source

Mark looks inbred, not kidding.

The lone rookie to earn an AP All Pro nod: Raiders TE Brock Bowers.

He set the record for most catches by a rookie ever, most catches and receiving yards by a rookie TE ever, was named to the Pro Bowl, voted an All Pro by his fellow players and now this.

One of the great rookie seasons ever.

Yup.

Same thing with the Pirates.

You don't win with bad owners.

Mark is a dipstick but the fans like him because he is relatable.

There were rumors two years ago that the Raiders meant to draft University of Tennessee edge rusher Byron Young but instead turned in the pick for the University of Alabama defensive tackle Byron Young. At the time, the conversation was more tongue in cheek as the majority of draft boards ranked Tennessee’s Byron Young a round or two ahead of Alabama’s Byron Young.

Did the #Raiders accidentally put in a pick for the wrong player in the 2023 draft?

Sure sounds like they might have…https://t.co/cAq0L9dThD

Chip Kelly is returning to the NFL to become the Las Vegas Raiders' offensive coordinator under new head coach Pete Carroll, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and Pete Thamel on Sunday.

Kelly, 61, has spent the past seven seasons in college football, including last season as the offensive coordinator for national champion Ohio State. Before that, he was head coach at UCLA for six seasons, going 35-34.

Kelly last coached in the NFL in 2016, when he was the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. That one-year stint came after he was the Philadelphia Eagles' head coach for three seasons (2013-15). He was 28-35 as an NFL head coach.

The addition of Kelly completes the coordinator hires for Carroll. The Raiders are retaining defensive coordinator Patrick Graham and special teams coordinator Tom McMahon.

Kelly becomes the third key assistant to leave the Buckeyes this offseason. Defensive coordinator Jim Knowles left Ohio State for the same role with Penn State and offensive line coach Justin Frye left for the same role with the Arizona Cardinals.

Carroll is returning to the NFL after a one-year hiatus. The former Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and New York Jets head coach was hired in January to replace Antonio Pierce, who was fired following a 4-13 season.

Kelly has long been regarded as a gifted playcaller, having served as a longtime offensive coordinator and innovator at New Hampshire and Oregon. As Kelly moved on to become the head coach at Oregon (2009-12) and then in the NFL, he remained the playcaller, and along the way his offenses shifted from breakneck tempo to a more deliberate NFL style.

If they have a respectable QB that might actually work. His offense was successful but he never understood managing the game as a HC. With someone over him employing some better judgement he might end up with a very dangerous offense.

I've seen some clips with Shady McCoy and Desean Jackson talking about how they didn't like playing for Chip Kelly, but tbf McCoy seems to have a problem with everyone so he's probably the asshole.

Shady is a legit dipshit.

That said Kelly always struck me as an asshole as well. Not that it isn't fairly common with OC's.

Maybe, deserved it's own thread here versus the Raiders suck thread. Chip being hired is not a bad out and the Raiders continue to make great decisions this off season.

No Chiefs fans are looking at the recent hires of the Raiders and thinking they are horrible hires. In fact Chiefs fans applaud these recent hires as positive because they want the Raiders to be a formidable foe.

The Chiefs are playing for their 3rd straight SB so maybe some of the fans are starting to be Patriot like but that is to be expected because they are winners until proven otherwise.
