Abner was Kaepernick in the 1960s. If you don't know his story, you should check it out. He forced the AFL to move the all-star game because of segregated hotels. One black mark against Lamar Hunt and Jack Steadman was they traded Haynes because they though he was a trouble maker and uppity. Haynes was also they guy who said "We'll kick to the clock" and almost cost the Texans their AFL championship in OT. Great player, sadly unknown by many Chiefs fans.
