Bengals, 49ers, Bills. The Ravens defense is for awful and 31st in pass defense.
Threepeat is on a silver platter fellas
the texans are def gonna be a match for us. i know they havent been blowing people away BUT they’re young and they’re learning how to win close games. they also have by fer the most balanced team out of them, buffalo, and baltimore. [Reply]

Yeah - the Ravens are already off the mat so they're not going anywhere.
The Bills had a shot to deliver a bit of a killing blow but shit the bed. The Bengals Bengaled it up.
At 3-2, the Ravens are gonna coast to that division title and at this point likely represent our biggest threat at the 1 seed (provided that we don't likewise stall out in Rice's absence).
Buffalo has to revert to ground and pound and I'm just not sure they have the defense for that approach. I know the stats aren't bad for them defensively but where's the talent on that D?

Why?
You take the guy 3rd overall ahead of 3 guys who are in contention for 1.1 in a lot of seasons (Alt, Harrison and Nabers) then you must clearly like the guy.

I remember reading the Ravens defense lost a couple guys, but nobody expected them to be THIS bad, right? Even if it was only week 1, that game was night and day different than the AFCCG, where Mahomes had tiny windows to throw into.... and they obviously haven't made any strides since then. [Reply]

It's just a bunch of JAGS.
looking at the texans schedule they are just as much in the 1 seed race as baltimore, if not more. the ravens may be off the mat but their defense is legitimately bad. the texans defense is a lot more promising than baltimore’s, and i trust stroud more than lamar at the end of the day. i think there’s a decent chance they’re 12-2 or 11-3 headed into the late back to back games they have against the ravens and chiefs. those games are gonna be massive [Reply]

And you're not playing for anything this season.
I can see the merit in it.
i don’t see the point in throwing him out there w their embarrassingly bad offense to flounder for 10 weeks. let him sit and have brisset be the sacrificial lamb. they’re not doing shit this year so why put your rookie qb in a position where he will almost definitely fail? shit like this is why all these rookie qbs suck, they just get thrown into shitty situations like this and it snowballs and snowballs. Losing the DC is a big deal.
Remember about 3-4 years ago the Ravens defense started to stumble a bit because the talent just wasn't there. They kinda peaked around 2018 and then declined a bit in 19, 20 and in 21 just seemed ordinary.
Suddenly last year they were world beaters after showing improvement in 2022 (when Macdonald arrived) and the talent was about the same level it had been.
I think that was a result of scheme.
From a pure talent standpoint, this defense looks a lot like the 2021 version that simply wasn't a good defense. It was average on its best days. Well that was the last season before MacDonald got there and he's in Seattle now. [Reply]
